Ah the glory hunters arriving.
Much more respect for all the folks who have followed the team faithfully through thick and thin.
Having said that shows that the good times are on the way back.
At least I'll get to see more live games now on Sky !

Thing is VR, when / if we make it back to the promised land armchair fans will want to go to games to see the “ big” teams…. I’m saying this Because there’s talk of re building the Cobbold stand in the medium to long term . Now do we go for 35k or 40k capacity? I’d say the latter figure because the area population is increasing and with the growth around Cambridge ( it’s a commutable distance for a PL match), I’d say we’d have no problems getting over 35k for games. Whatever the owners decide you can get sure there will have been a lot of market research gone into the final decision and not just a build and hope approach of the Pioneer stand days.

What do others think?

Owners vision should be exactly what you say, Hallam. 40K plus capacity, …… get Ipswich back to being the genuine Kings of Anglia.

Disclaimer: always have believed ITFC are Kings of Anglia anyway……… but get the club back to being undisputed ——>> like it used to be.

Even if we eventually make it back to the Premier League I think only a few games would require a 40,000 capacity stadium. Therefore, I would say a 35,000 capacity would suffice. Obviously, the Cobbold Stand needs upgrading but can’t see anything happening on that front until we get to and establish ourselves back in the Championship. We have had our fingers burnt twice regarding ground redevelopment and certainly don’t want to complete a hat-trick of things going tits up.

I agree with a 35k capacity too. With all things, supply & demand plays a big part. With the 21k ceiling on Season tickets, because this leaves little capacity for casual supporters. That may be enough to drive further ST sales of those fearful that they may not regularly get a seat at PR. I realise as a 6-8 games a season guy, that by the time each match comes round to general sales there may be little availability left. Let's say at this stage we already had a 35k capacity! Because people would know they could probably easily purchase a ticket then, it manifests a level of malaise in the supporter. Take that down to our current capacity when a big visiting crowd are expected, let's say Norwich (if we get promoted), there's every chance no tickets would make general sale, once ST and members have bought theirs!
Not sure I have put my point across or whether it sounds like waffle (or indeed both  ).

Hi all, trying to order 4 season tickets. I put my details In for first ticket, when I add my children's details, I've used my contact number and email as they are too young to have their own. However the website won't allow it, any ideas what I need to do? I can't leave the entries blank as its a mandatory field

This does trigger me a bit - my personal take is I’ll always support town through thick and thin but I’m loathed to spend my time and money watching utter dross, so I wasn’t going as much as I do now - or buying shirts, paying for iFollow etc. You have to have a product people want to invest in, not something they are obliged to.

Hope that makes sense.

Well I followed Town throughout the last few dire years, for Four years of Skuse, Judge, Smith, Sears, Chambers etc etc etc I hardly missed a game home or away, spending thousands in the process. My take on it now is I must have been f**king mad, tripping off to Rochdale on a cold and bleak Tuesday evening expecting to be beaten, standing with a fellow 300 or so Hardy souls in the freezing cold before arriving back home around 3 or 4 in the morning.

I have no issue with fans coming back to the club now that we are clearly on the rise again, it's pretty much the way it works and to be expected, I definitely love the match day atmosphere now compared to back then, Friday was fantastic. People have a choice and go when they feel they want to or are able to, the product has to justify the cost, I was just bat crazy I guess.

Absolutely, you can hardly call them glory supporters when it is still only league 1

There's always going to be die hards, but football is an entertainment buissness and the level of entertainment on offer now vs recent years is well beyond chalk and cheese, so you can't blame them.

Morsy showing what players in Skuse's roll can really do now ey Mike, and in a team a division lower! No offence Cole, decent professional, but a bit of an epitome of a McCarthy player.

🔵⚪️ The Club has sold out of 'new' season tickets for the 2023/24 campaign.

Town CEO Mark Ashton confirmed that sales would be capped at 21,000 for the upcoming season, and this number has now been hit by the Blue Army, should all existing season ticket holders opt to renew.

Please note that there is still time for 2022/23 season ticket holders to secure their seat at Portman Road for next term.

Only 5 years ago was the average home attendance 16,272 for the season, the last year McCarthy was in charge. I'll refrain from adding to my far too common moans about McCarthy, but what an amazing turn around. Potentially a division lower and we've reached a 21k ST cap in April before the next season, on top of the 26k average attained this season. Very exciting that that level of support is there, just waiting to be unearthed, we'll need an extra 10k seats in the stadium soon!

The deadline was 5pm tomorrow and they've had to close it today, quite remarkable, our highest ever ST Sales.

I'm glad I purchased mine on Monday now. I was never able to go much because I had to Work Saturdays and I always chose the odd games to go to.
