Would love him to stay, but...
Cannot blame him for wanting to be a regular in a football team.
He barely a had chance to push Davis out of first 11.
Never complained though.
Had to replace Davis for the Derby game last April and he did fine. And this was a crucial win.
All the best Greg ! Seriously gutted to lose you but understand the reasons.

Yes indeed, was always very impressed with him when he was called upon, I think he was much better than we realised, I too am very sorry to see him move on, I bet deep down he's pretty sad too at the thoughts of what he could miss out on here. I really wish him well.

Lovely guy. And a very capable fullback. How was he to know Premiership Leif would be signing so soon after him? Best of luck at Oxford Greg

Great post.
I don't get to see many Town games, however it's obvious that this guy never really let us down when called upon.
If you look back at some of those who've filled the LB slot in more recent times, I can't think of any who would have been anywhere near good enough to stop Leigh from being a nailed on starter on the team sheet each week. It's unfortunate for him that Leif came in.
I guess with squad sizes as well as the need for the individual to get game time it sadly is a decision which had to be made. Part of me hopes, in a way, that we draw Oxford at home in a cup tie so that the fans can show their gratitude to him.

Good luck Greg Truly professional move from a young man showing a desire to PLAY and not, as in many cases nowadays, to sit on the bank or in the stands watching his bank account growing!

I'm sure we would have liked to have kept him; an excellent player. But he is right to want to move on and play regularly. I wish him every success and thank him for his contribution to a very successful season. Good luck for the future.

Re: Greg Leigh APPECIATION thread
We have many “ nice guys” in our squad these days, but I think Greg Leigh probably tops that list. He must be a managers dream to have in your squad. Seriously good player, and he never rocked the boat when he wasn’t getting in the side regularly, but like the true professional he is, he did his job so well, never giving less than 100% whenever he pulled on that blue jersey. Oxford are getting one helluva player in my opinion. Good luck Greg….. go knock ‘em dead my friend!
