I think he will start with Clarke on tbe bench.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 9:59 pmI’m more concerned about Clark’s Achilles injury . This could rumble in all season.
Any smart money in Williams debut tomorrow?

I think Williams will be on the bench tbh. Time will tell.

Re: Injuries
Someone on here alluded to Clarke looking a bit uncomfortable when Armstrong breezed passed him in the QPR game. Williams has had a good pre-season and is ready to go! I guess it's just his lack of training with the first team which may be a concern?
For me any slight risk to Clarke if not 100% isn't worth it - Williams to start with Ball on the bench.
(Besides, Williams needs to be on the pitch to pick up that yellow card I opted for in the Prediction league

Anyone will have looked uncomfortable against Armstrong with that particular surging run.

Re: Injuries
I’m not personally worried. I liked what I saw of Hutch and Williams together down that right side. They combined very well together I thought and at least Hutchinson tracks back!

Re: Injuries
Another reason I despise bloody internationals, that's a player potentially absent now, while Burns can be covered its still not great, could just as easily be Morsy or Broadhead next time.

Re: Injuries
Burns tweaked a hamstring, set home as a precaution and duty of care according to Wales boss.

Re: Injuries
I think it was only a friendly international as well. What a waste of time. It’s the club that foots the bill ( rehab, players wages, time out etc)

Re: Injuries
Maybe the injury explains Burn’s performances. I don’t love Burns, but he has scored a lot of goals for us in the past.

Re: Injuries
Worried about this Davies injury, glad we have Williams now but will be a loss as I also had Williams likely ahead in the right back slot now so now it’s Clarke/Ball for that slot.
Hopefully JD isn’t too far away to provide backup /cover.
One runout was Davies broke his leg / didn’t look as bad as that as seemed an ankle issue but let’s see, could be months though.

It looked so innocuous at the time, just shows how easily some injuries can occur.

Re: Injuries
Broken leg could be better than an ankle issue, so lets just see what comes out. A 'broken leg' could be a simple fracture in his fibula, which I don't think is all that bad*

Re: Injuries
Kieran McKenna says Leif Davis will be assessed after sustaining an injury in Town's victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The full-back landed awkwardly on his ankle and was forced off after 45 minutes at Hillsborough.
"It's only Monday morning so we're waiting for him to be assessed," Kieran told TownTV.
"We have a couple of other players having scans so it is very much a case of seeing who is fit to make the journey to Southampton.
"No doubt we will have a strong squad and strong team and we'll prepare as well as we can for tomorrow night's game."

Exactly, when we grew up 3 swipes of the magic sponge would be enough to heal a shotgun wound.
At least Greg Leigh stuck around so we have quality backup
