Our Club these days ….

Post by hallamblue » Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:28 am

OMG, I’m just bursting with pride and I haven’t felt like this about Town in decades! I’m going to games expecting us to win - and this is despite the clear upgrade in level we now find ourselves in.

We haven’t had a squad of players with that Three Musketeers approach since our 80/81 side and the knowledge that we have such substantial backing from GC and a totally professional infrastructure (something we didn’t have believe it or not under SBR’s great side) just gives me such confidence in our Club again I’d something I never thought I’d ever experience again.

Some will say rightly, “yer, but we will lose KM soon”. I’m not so sure we will. He is integral to what’s going on here and has all the backing a manager could hope for. I think he’s in it for the long haul. He said recently he wants to manage in the PL. when he said that I think he meant with us. Why not!

This club is systematically and progressively building, building, building on and off the pitch . I think I’m January we might even see us dip into the overseas market, or if not then, definitely next summer,( based on KM recent words in interview). It’ll be interesting to see which overseas pool we look at.

This morning I’m a very happy bunny as our Club moves on relentlessly it seems .

COYBs 💙👍

Well said.

It's unreal at the moment, just a joy!

Town have taken 62 points from the past 69 available, that's just incredible at any level.

Yep. It's great when your club performs well and also has a stable infrastructure. I can see Spanish players fitting in well with KM's philosophy, especially defenders.

And just think you got kids out there who possess no idea what it's like to actively root for the team on the verge of actual accomplishment. Joe Royle provided some real fine times but the two play-off seasons ended in disappointment without even a Final place to contest.

What mean is, Going back to the turn of the millennium with George and the play-off Barnsley game (Bolton before it was sure memorable also) and subsequent fifth place finish in the very highest league. You could add a League Cup semi into it for good measure. That was the real last time we really got up to anything.

From 2005 up until very recent it's been an unmitigated disaster with succession of failures both with teams, managers, even ownership. 15 years (fifteen years for fucks sake) in disarray watching the parade go by.

You can't make up for that lost time but here at least McKenna and the new set-up has instilled hope and belief in that something once again can be done. Reprobates such as McCarthy, Jewell, Keane, Cook, Lambert (the list seems almost endless at times) should be made to come along to Portman Road at regular times now and witness first hand how the club name has risen from the ashes of their collective 'misfortune'.

Only thing left to worry about is at what point McKenna moves on or has proved himself enough to accept a new challenge at a more distinguished or recognized club side. Until then, guess we just make the most of it or enjoy.

Haven't been a fan of the Tractor Boys as I am sure probably every single other person on here, but the time that I have been a fan I have truly fell in love with the club. Might seem odd to some to say that due to me never seeing the boys in person before, but its true never the less. ITFC is just a great club with some of the more passionate fans you will find, great history, etc. ITFC and KSC are my clubs through thick and thin and wouldn't have it any other way.

Last season was incredible and this season is the same so far. It is quite a good feeling to go down 0-2 as we did today and still have utter faith that we could turn it around...and obviously we did. Credit to not only the players for that but to McKenna also for changing up what he had to, to make sure we were successful.

Our owners clearly want what is best for the club, on and off the pitch, short and long term. We are very lucky to have them imo, especially with what other clubs fans have to deal with when it comes to their owners. They just need to keep doing on what they are doing, and it will all be gravy.

Not gonna stress about McKenna leaving, nothing we can control either way. Just appreciate the time we have him and how he is leading us.

Will we get promoted? Still way too early to say that. Do I think if we do some ok business in January and everyone keeps playing for each other and for the shirt as well as they have so far, that we have a chance at the end of the season?Damn skippy.
