Southampton 2 up. Have to say I’m so pleased we finished in the top two, wouldn’t fancy playing Leeds or Southampton in a play off final.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Don’t think I’d mind Saints in a PO final, but Leeds on their day are devastating I feel.
I feel sure it’ll be Leeds who will win the PO final.

Going to go on record and say Leeds will bottle it at Wemberley. Southampton will be promoted.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
I don’t like Leeds either and never have although I do remember a couple of separate occasions, one having lunch with Billy Bremner and the other dinner with Norman Hunter and both were very entertaining when you see them in a different light.
All said and done zi think justice will only be done this season if Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich are the three promoted clubs.
f*ck it, when the season ended Southampton were only three points behind Leeds and there’s only one team to blame got that, I’ll go for The Saints

I've no love for Leeds so I would go for Soton, except their manager's a wanker.

Watching the Wellington v Melbourne play-off, record 33,297 attendance. Ben Folami featuring for Melbourne. Fun but pedestrian.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Oh, I’m far from a Leeds fan. I just think if they turn it on and turn up they’ll blow Saints away. But like you , I can’t stand Russell Martin. Ex budgie and a gobshyte IMHO!

I just think for what is right Leeds deserve it and having watched both play of semi finals with Leeds fans I have to say they aren't all bad at all.

Brilliant. Love the apple crumble song...... "I've got one cooking in the oven......, would you like some!" --->> playing as the Leeds goals go in. Absolute gold.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Quite a surprise Celtic winning the league again, who would have thought it. It's all very well and good winning a championship but it's not above mundane banality when there's no literal challenge. Signed off with late victory over an improving St Mirren while other side of the city were held back late on by Heart of Midlothian. It's good to win a respective league, carries honor and prestige, but essentially (there) a season competition, without competition.
Bolton look set to miss out on a place in the second league from August. That's a shame maybe, fans there deserve better but guess they couldn't raise their game sufficiently for the most pivotal fixture of their season.

Yes, it seems Oxford were much unfancied if our prediction league was anything to go by. Not a single person opting for an Oxford win, not even an Oxford first goal scorer.
Oxford finished 10 points shy of Bolton, 15 off the automatics!

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
After today AP it could be argued its the same for Manchester City, 4th title in a row and not exactly Been great themselves. Its getting predictably boringarana peligrosa wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 6:03 pmQuite a surprise Celtic winning the league again, who would have thought it. Really annoys me, I'm certain they have cheated to get to the point they are, argubly they are probably running OK now (last 3-5 years) financially but between 2013 and 2018 they spent over £700m and I highly suspect breached SO many FFP rules.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
It's something of a relief Manchester City took the title. Not necessarily pleasing, but a relief all the same. It just essentially prevents some other horrible club name from taking the accolade or becoming champions. Without belligerent amounts of money and Arab ownership thrown at them they'd most still likely be mid-league at second level someplace drawing in crowds of 20,000 but so long as they can block or prevent certain other club names from being champions or taking the top prizes there's a certain safeguard about it.
Can't stand Liverpool more than any other and the 1970s and 80's were tough for sure having to suffer their almost constant league success but retrospective credit where it's due they did so by simply putting together a fantastic team that wasn't about money or rich ownership, they simply assembled a great team set-up that proved many times the best through hard work, consistency, shrewd and intelligent acquisitions that undeniably worked, belief in their own abilities et cetera. You'd had to have lived through it or seen it first hand to truly understand the extent of times before but for years now it's more often than not what money can do for a team rather than the hope they can have to progress or challenge without it.

Yes great result I watched it on Sky, its good that both Town and Fortuna both getting promoted that's assuming they don't lose the second leg at home by 4.
