Morsy has played virtually every game for 3 seasons, he would be fine to play both, I mean somebody explain to me the difference between a Wednesday/Saturday to a Thursday/Sunday scenario? He's done the former numerous times. It was a mistake for me but definitely not the reason we lost, possibly the reason we didn't win though.
The biggest thing for me was once again the opposition manager changed it up early enough to turn a game around that they were losing their grasp of, that's what I want to see, not changing like for like, you need Two goals, don't take Delap off ffs, throw Hirst on with him ,!! Mix the bloody thing up.
That's my problem too. We have no plan b at all. Other managers do, but we carry on regardless with the same old same old. It worked in the Championship but it does NOT work in the Prem yet KM appears not to have realised this. Oh and if he brings the useless, lightweight Clarke on 70 minutes again, ai will scream! He has delivered orecisely zero since his arrival - a disappointment in EVERY game. Also - Jack Taylor on the right wing to replace Burns?? Where did that come from?

Glad I'm not the only one. Btw, what are your thoughts on Hutchinson?

The problem v Brighton with both our attackers Hutchinson and Delap is they were isolated from the rest of the team. Where was the midfield and wingers??

Good point, but isn’t it also a forward’s/winger’s responsibility to hold up play until support arrives? Omari always runs into a bushel of defenders and inevitably loses the ball. I’m hoping when Philogene plays on the right with Omari in the middle, Philogene will find Omari running up the middle who can lay off a pass to Delap or take a shot.
Now if KM shackles Philogene with defensive duties it ain’t gonna happen because as you say Omari and Delap will be isolated. I’m very interested to see how KM plays Philogene…it could make a difference for our attacking abilities…or not!

I love his attacking intent but at this level, he is lightweight and not fast enough. I always queried paying £20M for him. He is the best in the position that we have but would not get into 15 of the 20 teams in the PL week after week for me.

The more I think about our games and results etc ,the more im thinking our problem area is our midfield. The recent change to our defensive tactics seems yo suit us better, and on paper we have a mobile, quickish forward line. But in the middle we are pedestrian at our quickest, and slow and lightweight ar our worst.
Cajuste is silky smooth but hrn condideri g his partners ( Morsy and Phillips) im strughling to see " the answer" in our midfield.
I am beginning to feel Morsy has reached his ceiling in terms of impact. Everything however, goes through him. So if he's not playing ( rare) or not on his game ( rare) we miss him. But despite our reliance on him as a pivotal player, when you compare him ( and over all our total midfield) to opposition midfields, we are painfully slow, lightweight and lacking in vision and critically the ability to link defence with attack. Phillips as yet, has failed to really grasp his chance here and make himself un- drop able, given his previous pedigree. But when he does do something good it is a cut above Morsy tbf.
But where is the drive, pace and flair in our midfield squad? Taylor, whilst looking comfortable at this level.when he comes on, has failed to nail down a first choice MF slot. Who else do we have at the club to stake a claim, and we are slow to transition from defending to atta k, which is why i think the likes of Delap, Hutchinson, Broadhead, Burns etc can look so ineffective - they have minimal support from midfield.
