2024/25 Season predictions
Just as a bit of fun, why don't we lay down our predictions - can be edited upto the 16th August and then locked?
Be interesting to look back at the end of the season.
Towns finishing position: 15th
Best summer signing: Greaves
Worst summer signing: Delap
Best exisitng player: Hutchinson
Title winner: City
Relegated clubs: Southampton, Leciester, Forest.
Top 4: City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle.
Over-achivers: Fulham
Under-performers: West Ham
Towns top scorer: Hutchinson
First manager sacked: Nuno
Anything else I should add?

Re: 2024/25 Season predictions
Just playing devil's advocate here, but wouldn't it be better to have 'player of the season' (as voted for by the fans)?. A 'best' & 'worst' new signing is open to interpretation and can not easily be 'awarded' to any individual. I do like Andy's suggestion of first manager sacked because that will definitely happen at some point.
Just my thoughts and not meant to take away from a great 'just for fun' post which will be worth looking back on at the end of the season.

My goal was just to get peoples personal predictions, not collective. I.e it'll be the player YOU think is the best/worst.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 5:14 amJust playing devil's advocate here, but wouldn't it be better to have 'player of the season' (as voted for by the fans)?. Re: 2024/25 Season predictions

Best summer signing: Kieran McKenna, does it have to be a player. If not haven't really had chance to check out all new signings. As with the below they just haven't properly featured as yet.
Worst summer signing: Hard to pass judgment, they haven't been properly involved yet or been provided any real chance.
Best exisitng player: Sammy Morsy, perhaps Chaplin or even Hutchison. Walton used to provide hope and be reliable but just hasn't had the opportunity since taking back seat to Hladky. Walton remains with us and now will get his chance, through respect felt in necessary to include the player.
Title winner: Liverpool, it were real painful to admit it but got to be truthful in that they'll be a threat for sure and could go all the way.
Relegated clubs: Wolverhampton, Crystal Palace, either Bournemouth or Leicester.
Top 4: LIverpoool, Manchester C, Arsenal, Tottenham
Over-achivers: Aston Villa
Under-performers: Chelsea, without doubt they're a poor team right now and can expect to achieve little.

I reckon Liam has been getting extra motivation from this post lol. Looking like a bargain on his performances so far, albeit a long way to go.

Lol! I was one of them. So happy he’s proved me wrong. He’s an ox, and my word he can run! He’s quickly becoming my favourite player.

Yep this thread hasn't aged well
Delap has really suprised me. Oddly you'd have to say Ben Johnson is the worst signing so far, not that he has been terrible

Haha none of us really did well! Most had Delap as the worst signing, Greaves as the best, nobody had saints to go down?
Think only one person said we’d go down.

Re: 2024/25 Season predictions
I got a League title forecast correct, not prepared to add further word to it but guess in a way it's worth a certain self-applause. To oneself - not them.
Voted for Crystal Palace to drop down, they survive mid-league and win an F.A. Cup trophy. Although somehow knew Leicester was always likely to be a safe bet.
Honestly believed we'd survive or finish lower mid-division. 14th place was a fair estimation back at the time. Just got caught or misled in a wave of hype or euphoria after the two successive promotions. Playing our best "football" in some 25 years, it were easy to believe in better.
Had anyone suggested we'd win only 1 game at Portman Road up until the final game of season you'd have dismissed it out of hand. It would appear ludicrous or so far-fetched it'd be better written within the realms of fiction but that's what we've got. Not Town related, but Newcastle to win a League Cup and Crystal Palace the other major domestic ? Wonder what odds were available for that, although pleased for them in a sense.
