Couldn't waste any more time if tried right now so five minutes here will make no end of difference but being quick can see why they got rid. Seems winning a European trophy isn't enough for some but they were poor in the league and survived one place above the drop line. They were unlikely to be relegated however as margin between it and relegated teams was simply too great but you don't expect a club name like Tottenham to finish 17th position. The directors were forced to act.
Truth here is McKenna is and will be a feasible candidate for the position there. So what if he were sh*t last season and we dropped like a stone, his record before that was just about immaculate and has at least now experience of top league management. It's unlikely he'll go there, he's contracted to us for another 2 or 3 years but you know how easily that can be broken up. They'll probably hire another continental name, seems to fit in well with their structure there. McKenna is feasible but there's too many other factors as to why they won't go for it. Could he deliver what they need there i.e. Champions league finish or thereabout, in a word, doubtful.

That may well be staying in Suffolk, I hope it is but it's his decision. For sure he'll not be short of offers.
There's a hell of a lot of difference between being a candidate and being made an offer.
To my knowledge, last year he was cited as being a candidate for certain positions but no offer materialised from anywhere.
There's a lot waiting on the current round of speculation - Frank has to be offered (and to accept) the Spurs job, and then Brentford have to at least ask for permission to speak to KM. Nothing, as far as we aware, has happened yet, and any such talk is pure unfounded speculation.
Seems spurs are moving on frank

I guess if they get the £10m for him they’ll have money to spend getting a manager, KM or such.
He wouldn’t be my first choice if I was Brentford owners but I think they do like him.

Yes I agree with you that Brentford seem to like KM. However, thay have established themselves in the PL, they finished 10th this season and will be looking to push on a bit further even though - in typical Brentford tradition - they are bound to lose one or two before next season (Mbueno has already gone I think). IMO Brentford will not want to risk an interruption to their momentum, and although they like him thay will think - given his poor PL record - that there are better safer options out there.

Kieron McKenna has more potential to learn and get better than any club.
Wigan, Hull, Bolton, Derby, Reading, Leeds were all “established” EPL clubs.
Give it a few years and the arse will fall out the bottom of all clubs like Brentford & Bournemouth. Guaranteed. Regardless of the huge money. The clubs themselves are too small.
Staying at Ipswich Town and hopefully proving the first Championship season wasn’t a fluke is the way to go for KM’s future career. A second attempt at the EPL with Ipswich is what is required.
Of course, fail dramatically in the Championship….. well then its all been just a flutter of two very good years, ie 22/23 & 23/24
And i agree, (put yer wigs back on) …… The Messiah will NOT be a good choice for shitty 3rd division Brentford.

Oddly the assistant manager seems the 1st choice, odds on etc. I guess he knows the club, but its still a risk as he is an unproven manger (i.e he has NEVER managed).
Re these clubs, I agree to an extent, how long can they keep punching above their weight, leicester is probably the best example, plenty of others like Portsmouth too.

Were Portsmouth "established" in the EPL?
Left out all the one or two season wonders like Pompey, Oldham, Charlton.
Wigan are prize example though of established...... Were in the EPL for years.
Back where they belong in the 3rd division though.

Under HArry they had an awesome team, won the FA cup - they actually had 7 back to back years in PL and 2 top 10 finishes. Wigan did 8 years in the PL to be fair, but never finished in the top 10.

Ah right. Didn't realise they did 7 years in the EPL. That is something that went by me. I do remember the FA Cup win mainly due to that tattooed superfan guy.

Cheers Hallam. All very interesting..., especially that link highlighted. How the hell have I never heard of Sutton Hoo. Incredible story.
When I think back to some of the stuff we learned in history, no idea how this didn't make it into the British History parts.
I think we should write a poem about the Sutton Hoo......, and the Postegoglu!
Ah well, ^^^^ short poem....., but it works!
If you’re ever visiting London, swing by the British museum. The original Sutton Hoo burial mask is on display.

To be honest, I think that would be the prudent thing to do…to maintain consistency if nothing else.
