Ipswich have been given fresh hope in their bid to obtain clearance for new signing Vemund Brekke Skard to play before the transfer window re-opens in January.
The Norwegian Football Association have said the 24-year-old midfielder, who has signed an 18-month contract at Portman Road, is clear to play in England.
Now Ipswich will hope the English FA will follow suit, which should make Skard available for the Tractor Boys' next Championship game at Coventry on Saturday week.
Skard was playing for Brumunddal while also training to be a teacher and although he only received travelling expenses from the club he was deemed to be a professional and therefore ineligible until January.
But Ipswich will now hope that the Norwegian FA's intervention will mean he is available straight away.

Sounds like it Hallam.

I agree about the amateur from Norway. Can't believe we have signed him for next season too.
