Don't think I could take losing to them barstewards again in a really big important tie.
Yeah, it's a scenario you just can't envisage. Of course there IS every chance that the two clubs could face off in the play-offs next year but we'll cross that bridge when we find it. Perhaps gives an even greater incentive or more motivation to go up automatically and avoid such a predicament. OK we're perhaps better than them right now, but in derby games of this nature, anything can occur. Bottom line, can't afford to take that risk.

Many betting sites have us down a fourth favorite to both win and / or be promoted with Derby , Borough , and Bournemouth above us. So given our results it seems the bookies (who are seldom that far off the mark) expect us not to sustain our current form across the season.
Given our squad size they may be right , but MM may get a player in Jan ?? if he does and it,s a good quality player (striker or AMF )i am leaning towards 2nd and automatic promotion or 3rd , but to be honest and to give a one position answer ??
3rd for me (in the play off,s so still a great season and no need to worry about any team we may have to meet - form at the time will count)

Out of the top six positions 3rd would be my last choice. Given where we are at present I don't see why we shouldn't focus on one of the two automatic promotion places. None of the clubs around us are playing significantly better than we are so expectation should remain high. The forthcoming home match against Derby will be a good indicator of what we should expect and I reckon their fans will be more concerned coming into this fixture than ours.

bluemike wrote:Now that we have reached the half way point in the season things start to get serious and it is worth taking a look at our chances of keeping it going through the second half of the campaign, obviously the dreaded "P" word is bound to be mentioned amongst the fans even if the manager and players are trying to keep a lid on things, but given just how good we have performed it is worth looking at just how good our chances are.
Over the last few seasons the figure required for automatic promotion averages out at 85 points meaning we require another 41 points from 23 games to give ourselves a real shout of Premier league football, that works out at 1.78 points per match. We are going to lose gmaes that much is obvious but it is our ability to win the games we should win that will determine our fate. Looking at the remaining fixtures tells me we do have a chance, I have given my predictions as fairly and honestly as i can based on what has already gone before.
Remaining Home Fixtures
Wins............ Charlton, Wigan, Sheff Wed, Reading, Birmingham, Bolton, Blackpool, Cardiff = 24 points
Draws............Brentford, Nottingham Forest = 2 points
Defeats..........Derby, Bournemouth = 0 points
Remaining Away Fixtures
Wins.............Millwall, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Leeds = 12 points
Draws...........Brighton, Wolves, Blackburn = 3 points
Defeats.........Fulham, Norwich, Middlesbrough, Watford = 0 points
That equates to Twelve more wins, Five Draws and allows for Six more defeats, it wont be easy but it isnt impossible by any means, clealry there will games we win that we dont expect and probably some we lose that should be won but the fixtures at Portman Road are very appealing indeed and give us a great chance to rack up the required points. So that is what is required to get to the magical 85 points, the big question is, will we do it ????? It's gonna be one hell of an exciting Four months or so but whatever the outcome it is turning into a season to savour.
That's the first one chalked off then, lose to Derby next, so if we avoid that scenario we are up and ahead of the game already LOL

2015 being the year of the sheep (which includes goat and ram) - Therefore derby county sure of a promotion, some could argue.
Thankfully no 'year of the cherry' so guess we can steal Bournemouth's place, and still return to the EPL.
