Under 5 Upper tier only ?
Just read the club are moving the family area and not allowing the under 5s in the lower tier.
What a great idea ?
Making young children climb all those flights of stairs before the game climb even more steps to find their seat in the Gods.
Then as we all know they will want the toilet so make them climb the steep steps down and back up again .
The view is another issue for young children being so high up.
Then when the final whistle goes you have got to get them down all the steps again and stairs when they will be tired and grumpy amid all the fans trying to get down and out of the ground as quickly as possible .
All in the name of SAFETY....!? Flying Footballs what about the children fallling down the stairs or steps from the seats.?
Just playing Devils advocate here to see what others think about it.

Just take them to Easter Road. Everybody fucks off at half time anyway...... No safety issues.

I am in agreement with it, under 5s dont watch the game anyway and are a pain in the arse, to be honest i wouldnt allow it at all at that age, just too young.

Yeah I'm with Mike, it's too young anyway.
My daughter is 6 and incredibly mature for her age, but she has the attention span of a small child. She won't even sit still to watch it at home, let alone going to Portman Road. Then there's the "supporter element". She's well aware what swear words are although she has never said them in front of me as she knows it wrong. I don't thik it's right that she should be in a place where it's onviousky going to happen.
I reacted badly enough the other day when some little chav thought it was appropriate to start swearing near her and me.

Seriously thou, I heard some awful language at that age ( Adrian Heath calling the ref a c***) never forget it. But i never repeated it & that's down to my parents. My daughter is flying the flag v b'mouth on good Friday, there's 6 of us travelling from somerset & my view of her is in the gods in co-op stand. My mum with Parkinson's has to walk up those steps! I'm glad it's on sky so I'll record it just to see her.

Don't get me wrong, my daughter would never repeat anything she heard. Worst she'd do is tell me that she'd heard a naughty word.
I just feel at 6 years old she has no reason to be there. If people want to take their kids that young so be it, it's just not for me.

I felt safe at home watching ipswich. Yeah, u had the away end banter & swearing. But never went to an away game till I was older at Watford. I think David Lowe was upfront. My daughter won't go to an away game as she won't see as everyone stands up

Its the colorful language coming from the bench that has considered this move

Re: Under 5 Upper tier only ?
Nevermind the whole of the North stand using foul language at times then ? MM does it once or twice apparently and they decide to move the kids ? Sorry Dave I don't buy that one.
I was talking to a guy at work this week who is a steward right by where I sit and he was telling me had to have a word with some bloke who was using foul and abusive language at the Brentford game and this being a family area too so I don't see MM as being the issue at all. The biggest problem is that kids so young just shouldnt really be there.

Re: Under 5 Upper tier only ?
According to the ground regulations at Portman Road The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground. The Club may impose a ban for one or more Matches.
Does this apply to players as well? If so with the language I've heard some them use they won't be on the pitch very often.
