Isn't it funny
As some of you know i live in Norfolk, so i do see a lot of green and yella!
But, around where i live, and on Fb, and the such its been quite quiet, but now that lot are nearly there it seems their all crawling out of the rocks they ran to hide under(and i include some of my wifes and my family in this, not blood related family, ones that have married into the family i might add)
Their all bouncing up and down shout the usual crap they shout.
well where were they 3-4 games ago, or even more
WHERE WERE YA!!! fracking glory hunters!!

Re: Isn't it funny
Considering what their squad cost they have massively under performed. They have taken 7 months to drag they're sorry assess in to the top six and all said and done really are nothing special. They certainly aren't in the same class football wise as Bournemouth! . Yes they will probably get promoted now and so they should given the money they've spent. But they will struggle yet again in the PL.
Town by comparison have been brilliant on a shoe string budget. If we don't make it this season I see no reason not to get promoted next year. Year on year we have improved under MM and the crop of young talent about to force their way into the senior squad makes next season potentially very very exciting. We're getting there most definitely.

Good post hallam. I feel the same way, no reason to get down if we dont go up this year, I feel a summer for Mick and we will improve this team no matter what level we are playing at.

Have to agree with the original post and with Hallam. I believe we are on the right course, and though slowly we seem to be progressing. I wrote at the start of the season in my Next seasons top 10 thread that I saw us a few players short of going up. Well with only a few games left this season has suppassed my expectations and been fantastic with great memories along the way.
I hope its not blind optimism Im feeling but hey!! maybe something special id about to happen to our Club....and the seasons not over yet.

I live in Norfolk to..Yes I have also noticed the fake fans are out in force..You can't blame them for getting excited though as they have a better chance of going up then us..If we were in their position more of the people not usually interested in footy would come to games.K L Blue wrote:As some of you know i live in Norfolk, so i do see a lot of green and yella!

Re: Isn't it funny
It's the new name that they brought in that has made all the difference. Can't remember the name but he's been a revelation. Almost has done what Lambert did in a much shorter space of time i.e. put together a very good team that can challenge for honors and compete with the best the league can offer.
Would have been interesting to see what would have occured if they had brought in someone else to do a job, but as it is - and as hard as it is to admit it - they have done well, and on the basis of the last few months at least, will have deserved a place in next seasons EPL if they make it. (Which does look very likely now)
Make no mistake about it, got no love lost for the team in question and a genuine distaste, but credit where it is due, and being honest, will allow them some degree of plaudits and recognition.

they have a premiership squad, they have the parachute payments, they got a manager that no one in this league knows much about, how has he put this team together?
they have got all the advantages, yet until this new manager came in they were squandering, the only recognition they will get from me, is they brought down a premiership club, kept it together, put someone unknown in charge, and have reaped the rewards, and even then their only in the top by 1 goal scored more than Watford.
Lets face it they only won the 1st division because they had a championship squad, and now theyve done the same with the championship promotion.(all be it they are 2nd)
My main point in the original post was(and i will use my actual family for the example) is whislt they were doing average not a flipping peep, now 3 games to go and a possiblity of promotion, their all on social media banging on about being back where they belong!
My main question was(and i do ask them personally) WHERE WERE YA when they were struggling?
Bloody glory hunters! i hate them, because their not real supporters.

Re: Isn't it funny
Good enough, gave it another read.
Hard to look beyond that new manager that's all. Sure I don't always take an interest in Norwich, being sincere I'd want them to fall from every league and become a non-league club with f*ck all to show for it, but every now and again they become more recognized and try as you like, a few words will go in their direction. EPL squad and payments whatever, it's just been such a turnaround this new year that some can't (grudgingly) be impressed. Maybe they've just been more consistent than most and got a good team ethic underway. Anyway going to leave it at that.
one other thing that should be mentioned however is giving some acknowledgment to their support particularly at Carrow Road where they invariably have a very good attendance at every fixture even when they are struggling and results do not go their way. Not sure about the glory hunt side of things however. They've got no real hope of winning anything significant so if one or two of their support seem intent on becoming more vocal or recognized after being away when things were going less well, doesn't that apply to many teams ?
Wouldn't use the hate word either. For sure there is some level of animosity but on the face of it, have always seen them as Town's poorer, less illustrious, neighbor, that seem more to be pitied than anything else.

They always have been plastic fans KLB
I notice they "lost" over 4k fans at their last home game. Probably no BOOKS on offer for that game lol !
They're as fickle as they come.

Re: Isn't it funny
This is a very rare time for me to post, yes i too live amongst the yellow lot, and i have to say that here in my village they are a distasteful bunch, its true inso much as they only come out of the woodwork when things are going well for them, I always wear my ITFC jacket with pride in and around the village, and yes i get the usual comments from the igonorant sods, but my answer is always the same, "Exactly what is above the badge on a Canary Shirt?" NOTHING! NOT A SINGLE LITTLE STAR IN SIGHT!, yes we are not the club we once were! but we have been there , done , won it and wear the stars with pride, i also say to them that i keep applying for the job of cleaning the trophy cabinet at carrot rd, easiest job in the world cos its sodding empty!, this tends to shut them up, for a while..... BUT THEY DO HAVE TO THINK FOR A WHILE ON THAT ONE!

Karlywoo......, I think it was Wolfie who posted a joke on this forum a few months back, (apologies if it was someone else)
"The trophy room at Carrow Road has been robbed. Police are looking for two men carrying a yellow and green carpet."
loved that one.

I heard attendances were down at Carrow road due to the Norfolk Fete...apparently it had a booth set up for DNA testing and family photos! I can imagine it was very popular with the inbreds!hallamblue wrote:They always have been plastic fans KLB

Sorry KLB, but do I detect a hint of envy in your comments? As much as I dislike Norwich I don't think their fans are any different to those of other club.K L Blue wrote:What do you mean St Jude?saint jude wrote:It's the new name that they brought in that has made all the difference. It hurts to say it, but I think their new manager is proving to be a shrewd acquisition who has certainly motivated the players he inherited.

Maybe some of the smugness and cocky arrogance which I too have witnessed elsewhere will be firmly knocked out of them.
