Also, what a bloody goal!

I've been critical of MM myself. I just don't think it was warranted after one match. I'm just giving you a hard time, mate. COYB!rossi wrote:I'd hate to disappoint you, so I'll say it again.number 9 wrote:Funny how a certain person hasn't posted any comments of his disdain for MM...COYB!!!
MM - brilliant at putting together a squad especially on limited funds, but tactically naïve on the modern game.
There, that do you?
I'd give up sarcasm if I were you - you're not much good at it

Not aiming to pick a fight here, guys. BUT If MM is tactically naive, how has he been able to get so many teams promoted ( usually within 2-3 yrs of taking over), took Eire to their best ever performances on the International stage? Also if Mick McCarthy is tactically naive , what the f*ck were mega gobshyte RK, and Paul Jewell?

I don't want to give my opinions here on RK and PJ - I'd get banned for the most filthy language.hallamblue wrote:Not aiming to pick a fight here, guys. I actually said that in my opinion, MM is tactically naïve on the MODERN GAME. I don't deny he's had great results in the past at both Championship and international level - but the game has moved on, especially in the Championship, and I'm not sure his tactics have.
Just my opinion, and if we get promotion this season then I'll happily eat my words and admit my opinion was wrong.

Rossi, I would say that you should already have been eating them and be sitting and stroking your belly with satisfaction. Last season we came 6th. I would say that tactically MM was better than most of the other managers. Obviously all teams were not equal but I think we all agree that there were many squads that looked better than ours on paper.
To me this means that statistically your opinion doesn't make sense. Subjective opinions of course are another thing altogether. And maybe another 18 managers also don't understand modern championship tactics either.
A number of reports this season have alluded to quotes by players and former players suggesting that MM & TC are extremely thorough in their preparation for matches, given the number of successful matches that would indicate that generally they got it spot on.
Just sayin'

I would back you 100% on the RK & PJ opinions, not to mention the language so feel free LOL.rossi wrote:I don't want to give my opinions here on RK and PJ - I'd get banned for the most filthy language.hallamblue wrote:Not aiming to pick a fight here, guys. I think most people on here would also agree that, given our position at Xmas, we really should have got automatic promotion. We didn't, and I believe that is because we sat on small leads and became unstuck.Dubai Blue wrote:Rossi, I would say that you should already have been eating them and be sitting and stroking your belly with satisfaction. Of course, you perfectly entitled to disagree with my opinions, but to say that they statistically make no sense is a bit naïve and in this case not accurate either. I think you will find that in recent seasons the majority of clubs achieving promotion had youngish managers with fresh ideas.

Well you know what they say Rossi, 'there are lies, damn lies and statistics'
I respect your view, and there are some points well made, but at the end I don't feel compelled by it.
