And that's how it should be on a forum.... night and day... bit of keyboard jousting... No one gets hurt .... it's only football.marko69 wrote:![]()

feckin brilliant.
Testimony that fans views differ all over the place........., only TWO posts, and they're feckin night & day!
For me..... for Skuse.... 3 years is too much.
He does the dirty and unglamorous stuff.... nothing to be sniffed at.... and does it well. But he's no game-changer and he's soon into his thirties.
I can't help but thinking that Mick is putting 2 fingers up at fans and saying ' f*ck you' .... he's my type of player" . Just the way I'm seeing things with Mick at the moment..... a win or two and a 30 yard screamer from Skuse.... or a telescopic Campo-like 50 yard pass could easily change my mind.

Yes.... Nice to see....long live forum handbags.... Or just mild disagreement.... It's a long time between games and who cares who's right or wrong.... We're f**king amateurs who just want the best for Town... Whatever opinion we pick.marko69 wrote:I raise my glass to that. Re: SKUSE
Great news one of most unappreciated players at the club. Yes going forward not the greatest but he does ugly side of the game we craved for in the past and amount of attacks he stops really does go unnoticed by a lot of fans.

Re: SKUSE
bit more keyboard jousting.there was no man of the match saturday.eadt gave it to gerkin for one save, which if their forward had any skill would have buried the rebound .one parry and he m.o.m
ffs.if mike gives it to skuse that saying something about saturdays game when your defensive midfield player is m.o.m. at home to rubbish huddersfield.mind you they had the best 2 chances in the match.if i had to say who the best player for ipswich,it would be berra for his goal line clearence and the covering tackle on millar after tommy smith sliped over .i sat high in sir alfs stand for a change sat,and saw no tatics what so ever,as if we hadnt watched them and try to exploit any of the their weak spots.you could see as bad as they were they had a game plan.to isolate smith and put millar on him, which worked to some degree in the first half.
would i give skuse 3 year contract,no i would only give him a year at a time.becos if we made the premier he wouldnt be good enough, plus no team would pay him more for him to leave.make him hungry every year to be signed again.to be honest he not the future.

I'm not sure I understand the disparity between fan's views on Skuse; some fans think he's good, some fans think he's bad. I don't have the luxury of seeing many games, so I'm just curious if someone can explain the differences in opinion?

Re: SKUSE
There will always be disparity among fans when it comes to opinions on players performances etc, some will always be crowd favourites no matter what they do, McGoldrick being a classic example, missed a sitter which cost us 2 points but is still the golden boy, had it been Douglas or Skuse they would be the biggest wanker on earth. Gerken is another who will never be accepted no matter how he plays as the decision of many fans is already made. Some see it one way and others ee it the correct way, unfortunately eveyone thinks they are correct, that is what an opinion is. Personally I think there is little doubt that Skuse had a very good game, it matters not that he is a Defensive Midfielder, that is his position and if he plays well he plays well, it is how the team are set up that determines that.
Some love Tommy Smith some hate him , prior to last season I was about the only person I can think of who rated Daryl Murphy as a good footballer, last season every man and his dog jumped on the bandwagon and proclaimed him as the Messiah, times are hard for him right now and likes Rats off a sinking ship they have turned again, it's just the way it is.

Re: SKUSE
Can't speak for everyone, but surely (cue, Airplane! Quote) ...... It's a matter of consistency before an opinion occurs. Every time I see Tommy, he's sh*te...... Therefore I think he's sh*te. I've seen Gerken a few times, and he's been sh*te. That's how opinions develop. But I see limited Town fixtures. I dare say many people's opinions about Skuse being sh*te may stem from limited viewings.
Unfortunately there are plenty of bandwagon fans who jump on whilst not having a f**king clue what they are talking about. I refer to Hibernian fans with that last comment......., just before anyone has an aneurism.

Re: SKUSE
For me Skuse needs the right player next to him, someone more dynamic than Douglas. Skuse has looked better this season because he has wide players to pass to. Also he gets a little more time on the ball as we are not playing so narrow.
A three year deal is good but only if next year we bring someone better in or bishop takes over the role. Meaning Skuse will become a squad player.

Oh dear, here comes your superiority complex again, but rest assured you don't intimidate me Charnwood. The PM's of support I received from other members after your last disgraceful display of arrogance have done nothing but spur me on. End of the matter.Charnwood wrote:barmy billy wrote:Charnwood wrote:Wouldn't it be boring and uninteresting if we were all right all of the time.

Re: SKUSE
Why you feel I'm superior to you only you will no BB. Nobody else seems to have an issue with my posts or with me as a person, perhaps you'd like to explain what your problem is. As for support I had plenty from the members that mean anything to me, maybe you had some from the same people trying to keep the site peaceful.
i don't think you need any spurring on BB, I think you just like to create an issue with an individual every now and again and it just happens to be my turn.
I'm certainly not arrogant, but I will rise to the bait occasionally and stand up for myself when people like you try to put me down.
End of the matter from me too, assuming you can stick to your word and do the same.

Wow, that's one hell of an egocentric statement - bordering on narcissism I would saybluemike wrote:There will always be disparity among fans when it comes to opinions on players performances etc, some will always be crowd favourites no matter what they do, McGoldrick being a classic example, missed a sitter which cost us 2 points but is still the golden boy, had it been Douglas or Skuse they would be the biggest wanker on earth. You obviously have a very poor memory then, because I can remember quite a few people on this board at the time we first got Murphy on loan from Sunderland who rated him most highly (I must admit I was not one of them).

As I said, "That I can think of" I am sure there were one or Two more, they just slip my mind as to who they were.rossi wrote:Wow, that's one hell of an egocentric statement - bordering on narcissism I would saybluemike wrote:There will always be disparity among fans when it comes to opinions on players performances etc, some will always be crowd favourites no matter what they do, McGoldrick being a classic example, missed a sitter which cost us 2 points but is still the golden boy, had it been Douglas or Skuse they would be the biggest wanker on earth.
