I really do not know what to make of this, Hallam.
Although most of us on this board would like to see one or two additions in certain areas that we think need to be strengthened, it seems that MM is happy with all departments. Time will tell I suppose

Disappointed to say the least, but when you see players like Townsend and Shelvey valued at 12-million each there's not much you can do. I do hope MM has a few 'loan'-prospects up his sleeve. Obviously, we need to strengthen in some areas. If not, I suppose we'll just have to trundle along and see what happens.

Its being reported that Town have bid £2m for Gillingham midfielder , Dack, who hhs scored 14 goals this season! We're in competition with Brizzle City and Reading.

Could be a blessing as Mick has said. I would like to see some up and coming Premiership players coming in on loan and making a difference

Mick said after the Portsmouth game that the fringe players hadn't given him any selection problems and he knew his best 11. Today on the last day of the transfer window he's ... more than happy with his squad. All of sudden more than happy. Interesting what has changed since the Portsmouth game?

Re: Oh well, that's that then!
Mick will definitely know of a few decent loan deals that may be coming up. He just cannot solely rely on his current first 11 ........, (not because of ability), but because the league really starts from now. The leagues get more physical with teams fighting off relegation and bidding for autos and play offs; there will be injuries.
Bottom line for me is -----> If NO ONE comes through the door, then I feel maybe Mick has taken the club as far as it is allowed to go. And that is by no means detrimental to Mick McCarthy.

The thing Marko is today makes no difference at all, the loan market is and always was where we will do any business and that opens next week.

Definitely hoping some business is done early when the loans open. It really would be a nightmare if the club were scrambling to get cover in for possible injuries........., its essentially been a decent season so far, be a shame to p*ss it all away in 4 or 5 matches. Feb is a nightmare for the "wet pitch" and misjudged sliding tackles that take out player, cameraman, and guy in the front row!

Tried to read the provided link but it wouldn't function properly. Caught the headline if nothing else, which was sufficient in itself.hallamblue wrote:http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/mick_mccart ... _1_4399416
McCarthy may be satisfied with the team we have right now - but others would beg to differ. There is an almost definite room for improvement in some departments of the team and bringing in one or two extra additions wouldn't hurt or in fact be beneficial, but McCarthy comes out that he sees no reason for change ? Disappointing to read but only in time shall we see how right he was in his thinking.
