That certainly explains your last 14498 posts of utter drivel just for sake of posting.

Re: New Manager syndrome
I think there have been a few crossed wires here.
All derrick did was to leave the apostrophe out .........
Bristol City's new manager Lee Johnsons first game in charge is....Town this Saturday!!
One foolish comment that implies he's got the name wrong and all hell breaks loose.
Lesson here for all of us - better to digest fully what somebody has written before making a reply

Re: New Manager syndrome
Whilst we're all supposedly united by our love of ITFC, that clearly doesn't always extend to one another!
This is a comparatively small forum, populated - perhaps dominated - by a few passionate individuals, with occasional hair trigger reflexes to others' views and opinions, which quickly become far too personal. Neither healthy or desirable, and perhaps partly explaining why this is a small forum!
The inevitable 'if you don't like it, go elsewhere' response is a lazy one!

Re: New Manager syndrome
I haven't a clue why the thread is not being discussed? Viable topic started by Deeko; ITFC have regularly faced opposition with a new manager, and it tends to go wrong more often than going right. Fairly sure Barry Johnstone will have them fired up!

It was not you Lucy who spoke out of turn. It was somebody else who just cant help himself insulting people. Water off a ducks back to me, I wont stoop to his childish level. Thank you Rossi and Marko for trying to get it back to the thread.lucy wrote:Foolish comment?. When I first read it there was no mention of Lee Johnson.

Re: New Manager syndrome
Nevermind foolish on here and i have to say.. Good topic derick. No problem discussing this at all..
I can understand Bristol in changing their manager though still harsh. Previous manager dragged them up from near bottom of league 1 to promotion then sacked whilst almost total rebuilding of their stadium.
Ipswich found it hard under Burley. We were regulated whilst most of that season the North End was being rebuilt. Not the only reason why we went down but remember reading and hearing players commenting just how different it was playing with no stand for most of that season.
Don't think i have heard as much dribble than coming from the Derby Chairman. He is saying it wasn't promotion reasons why sacked old manager just reasons of players bringing in to starting line up.. Crap, of course he is worried they won't go up with money they have thrown in. Desperation maybe but listen to his comments and see what you think..

A bit like you when I was away in Spain last year you mean ? But yes I should maybe have said nothing as it is a decent topic for debate.derick_ipsw wrote:It was not you Lucy who spoke out of turn. Re: New Manager syndrome
We can't do much about BC's manager, team or supporters. Of course there'll be an added incentive for them, which will affect the early part of the game, as adrenalin kicks in etc.
Whoever trots out for us need to be aware of their potential 'bounce', but it should not be a major distraction. Our focus has to be the single-minded intention of winning the game. Screen out all the background noise!

Re: New Manager syndrome
It is fair to say that teams do raise their game when a new boss arrives and added to that Bristol City are in a decent run of form so this could be tough, but then again what game isn't ? We are good enough, we all know that and we don't have one of the best away records by coincidence or luck, what we must do is turn up for the first half and impose ourselves on the game, failure to do that again and we could get slapped.

Add to that, it is the first game without Fraser. Don't expect much of an attack!

Your quote, "Screen out all the background noise" Herforder, made me think of this guy. If we ever have a game of golf together, this will be it. You handing out the advice,..... Me accepting the advice, but losing the plot when it all goes wrong.herforder wrote:Whoever trots out for us need to be aware of their potential 'bounce', but it should not be a major distraction.
