Question for GoldandBlack

Post by hallamblue » Sun Aug 28, 2016 6:20 pm

Just wanted to know, when Mick was in charge at Wolves and the season you tore up the Championship and he had the two wingers, did he use a big target man too?

Cos I can't ever remember that team hoofing it. I just wondered if no that Murphy has gone and MM has clearly been search for wingers for some time now, whether we see a different style of football at PR.

Hallam, you’ve got the old brain cells working overtime now.
The season Mick took us up we had Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Chris Iwelumo scoring 40 odd goals between them. Blake was at the top of game that season.
We also had Matt Jarvis and Michael Kightly on the wings who both were class acts, none of these cost Mick much and All coming from lower leagues. Wolves were good to watch that season.and no hoofing as you say.

I think your downfall was McCormack being out for so long, him and Murphy together I believe would have seen you promoted, unlucky for Mick the funds was’nt there to replace him with the same quality striker.
hear your linked to Michael Kightly , grab him he'll do a great job for you

Hi G&B, thanks for answering my quextion....and see, yer little memory cells are in fine nick lol!

God Id forgotten about EB-B, what a player he was. The thing I recall about Wolves the year you went up, you came to PR and whipped our asses, 3-0, but were so bloody quick !

Im not so sure about Kightly now , he's 30yrs old and will he have the legs now? He hasnt been playi g regularly , which at his age won't help him keep his pace.

Well, we only have 3 days to wait to see what Mick does. But I do trust hi and I dont think our targets are last minute . com either abd that the Club knew about Murphys desire to leave a week or so ago, and already have a replacement lined up.
