Our start is average but not bad, we are unlucky with injuries already and yes our squad is a little thin on the ground. But that's life for a mid-table team like us. We are not going to be able to compete financially with the 10 or so teams who have much bigger resources than us. ME does not invest 300k-700k on players he actually finances the club's losses to the tune of multimillions per year as has been said before. Some teams don't have that kind of backing and they are now yo-yo teams in and out of Division 1 as a result.
We can only get tho the playoffs if some of our players over achieve (like Murphy 2 years back) or if our management is better than average (and I think it is).
We didn't get lucky against Barnsley, we saw a high quality hat-trick by a young player that the management team had identified, the owner had financed and the coaching staff thought was ready to change the game at half time. Credit where credit is due guys.
As for the tickets issue, I think the involvement of the Irish gentleman disturbed from his bath to face arrest will transform this into a diplomatic incident and we may not hear too much more about it until charges are quietly dropped, but that's just hunch.
This season will be hard fought, tooth and nail stuff and this is what we have come to enjoy in this league no? Let's enjoy the 'ups' and be balanced and objective in analysing the 'downs'.
