Yes indeed, all confirmed. What I am liking is that we are actually beating several teams to signings, a few teams were after Gwion Edwards while Blackburn were very keen on Harrison.

A lot depends on the Waghorn situation, but whilst he’s still here ... the main priority now is to get a CB.

Didsy does nothing of note at ITFC, then scores on his debut for SUFC in a 1-1 draw v Inter Milan?

Is Stockley any good? Only heard about him yesterday.patthegimp wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 2:08 pmLee Martin just signed for Exeter FC. Hope he doesn't bad mouth us to Stockley
A League 2 player who’s had 1 good season is not a replacement for Waghorn IMO..... especially if there’s 8 million on the table.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
When all the chat starts, it does start getting slightly irritating that the club have a proven championship tested striker already.
Makes me think of “dud of the century” Tampon. Not easy to get the quality guys in.
But...... as you’ve stated Mike. If he actually wants to leave, he must go.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
In reality there are very few strikers that can display the all round ability with end product that Waghorn showed last season. However 8 million is a lot of money for us and can bring in decent championship players to fill the holes in our
And has been previously shared no guarantees of the same performance this season. Personally keep him and bring in Stockley

True. If we get 8 million.... we could spend 5 million ( it won’t happen) and then we get a dud.marko69 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 5:03 pmWhen all the chat starts, it does start getting slightly irritating that the club have a proven championship tested striker already.

If we have to sell and then buy.... I hope Hurst already has someone in mind he really wants that could bring something to the team.... not just a “ I’ve got cash to splash” panic buy. And I wouldn’t want cash plus player deal like the Derby situation suggested..... you end up getting someone who’s not wanted and there’s usually a good reason for that.
Priskin.... what a waste of money.... and we generated some cash by offloading Rhodes (when he was about to come into his scoring days).

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
The Stockley kid who was mentioned seems a useful player but (as believe someone stated) would he able to replicate any achievements at a higher level. As with Hurst himself, comes perhaps recommended by his own peers but open to debate that he could be a success within a higher division. Why not keep Waghorn on board and bring in the aforementioned name also, wouldn't hurt to have an extra attacking option within the squad for next season.
Thinking about it now you could imagine Derby County could be a (more) attractive proposition for Waghorn such is that Frank is now in place as new team coach and they'll more likely be involved in the promotion race than ourselves in the months ahead. Maybe our club could offer the player an improved salary or terms of condition and persuade him to stay on. At this (exact) time it's all subject to debate and what if's.

I would wait and see personally. Personally I think Lampard & Derby are gambling.Lampard on Marriott and Derby on Marriott and for that matter Lampard. Let's see.

Derby are set to sell Czech striker Matej Vydra, 26, to Leeds in an £11m deal, and will use the money to purchase Ipswich’s 28-year-old English striker Martyn Waghorn.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
Just read on TWTD that Tilt deal has been done. The poster (London Blue) says he has a mate who is an agent and a friend of Paul Hurst!!
Have no idea if this is true but have always had a feeling that Tilt was Hurst's no.1 target. Here's hoping,

I tend to take these things with a pinch of salt but occasionally one rumour is true, I hope this is the one cus I like the look of this guy, here's hoping.
I read today that Spurs could be up for sending Cameron Carter-Vickers out on loan again, would be nice to think we could be in the frame for him too.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
The need for a centre back or probably two is so glaring I can't help but think there's a lot going behind the scenes. Wouldn't be surprised if we're in the latter stages of the Tilt deal and maybe just squabbling over that extra bit of cash. Hurst has said Chalobah is intended to play in midfield so that just leaves Chambo as our only real blooded specialist centre back. It's getting close now so surely next week we're bound to see something here in regards to centre backs. All this uncertainty with Waghorn doesn't help. Much as I want Waghorn to stay or, at least, get his future resolved - I think getting a Centre back has to be the priority.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
I agree with all of that Tang, I too think stuff is going on, Tilt being a logical assumption, I also have a feeling Hurst may have gone back to his old stomping ground and Nsiala/Beckles or even both are on the radar too, either Hurst is a very cool customer as he doesn't exactly seem to be overly worried or he knows things are coming together, I bloody hope so anyway.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
If I had the choice between Nsiala and Tilt ( if we have that luxury).... I would go for Nsiala.
YouTube never shows the true picture of the player, but Tilt looks so composed and strong on the ball and he looks an athlete. However, last year was only his first year in pro football and I think due to that Nsiala is a more safer choice.... he’s made steady progress and, of course, Hurst knows him well. Both would do me fine.
