We've got super Kieran McKenna
He knows exactly what we need
Woolfie at the back, Ladapo in attack
Town are going to win the f**king league

What a day! As I’m an old git I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen some of Town’s greatest triumphs. However, today just seemed something special, when you think where this club was just a few years ago and the downward spiral it was on it seemed that the bad times were never going to end. Today it felt like we have really got our club back. For that I thank the owners, Ashton and O’Leary, KM and his staff and obviously all the players.
No doubt there will be tough times ahead, probably some in the Championship next season. But now you feel that whatever obstacles we come across we will eventually come through them.
Off to Fleetwood next week to continue the celebrations. Although winning the league would be the icing on the cake, the main objective has been obtained.
WE ARE GOING UP, WE ARE GOING UP!!!

Fantatic to see Town get back to Championship, hopefully use the momentum to have right go at the league next season.
Hopefully hang onto McKenna, why not, Ipswich are going places.
Really pleased for all fans who have went on a regular basis through all the desperate times of recent years

Chaplin with Morsy runner up.
Tbh the ceremony was SO long winded , people in the end started to leave. I didn’t understand half the awards ….. the speeches from various people, just ridiculous.
They’ll need to sort that out for next’s season promotion party ….

This is my favourite clip so far Liz and I can’t stop going back and watching it again and again.
The last time I felt anywhere near this elated after a football match was at Wembley 23yrs ago after we’d beat Barnsley to win promotion back to the Premier League, but there’s something even more special about today probably because of the depths from where we’ve come from.

I haven’t had a chance to read all of the match day posts, so if I’m repeating something I apologize. It’s taken longer than many of us envisioned, but many of us wanted a reset with a young up and coming manager who focused on playing good football. I think we’ve achieved that and the reset as a whole has benefited the club’s infrastructure and ownership to put us in a realistic position for success. There’s still a long way to go, but finally we’ve found our identity again.

Knew we'd win, knew we'd be promoted this day. Exeter were not going to be the obstacle to prevent it.
4 losses in 45 games, on the verge of 100 points and 100 goals and still residing in second position. This is bullshit. Plymouth may be better than us so says the league standing but I believe we are by far the best team in this lousy league. How much do you have to do to be declared or worthy of winning a league championship. We've done it, accomplished it. There's something fundamentally wrong if we finish second place after not only today but the last few months as a whole.
But it's all about the promotion. 1st, 2nd place, f*ck it we're getting out this division and not looking back. Wish could have been there today, haven't checked attendance but guessing 30,000 at least. Must have been an event for the ages, 6 - 0 win and all that, promotion team with it.
Would have wished to have "invited names like say Marcus Evans, possibly Hurst, Lambert, Cook, McCarthy to name but few, although the former is most prevalent, to have been in attendance today and let them be a live witness to a club name completely turned round for the better after the mess left behind and in which they very nearly killed it. Pelt with stones and rotten fruit, you bastards very nearly sent us into oblivion.
The real work starts in August. Whole load of what if's involving certain club personnel in that will they remain and continue this success or be led elsewhere and we lose a few star assets. We got a promotion today, it's a moment for celebration but in truth the team or club name should never have been in such a position or league to begin with. Some "individuals" almost killed us off, today showed or confirmed an amazing turnaround. The mess others left behind will always remain in the background but today was something of a new dawn. Wish could have been there to take in the scenes and atmosphere etc.
As an afterthought last promotion was 2000. Hell there must be kids - with kids - who don't even recall that or understand what it's like to be part of a promotion winning team here. Kind of absurd.

Sorry but I cannot condone that at all. Yes evans could have done more but he no doubt lost alot of his own money and we never went into admin like many clubs did.
I highly doubt Mick didn’t put the effort in whilst at this club, he was very limited with the resources he had, these are humans and I highly doubt they wanted the club to fail, so it’s unfair to suggest so and to say they need stones throwing at them. I’m sure all of them made sacrifices and had the best intentions for the club, it just didn’t work out for various reasons.
Many of the players we have now wouldn’t be here without Cook.

I think yesterday's result & promotion have just about sunk in now.
As an eternal pessimist I refused to think it would happen until the very last minute.
All praise to everyone involved at the Club who has played a part in what has been achieved. Simply superb.

It was mind-numbingly boring. After such a great match with a fantastic atmosphere, it really was bad. It took forever to get started and then the speeches were unnecessary. I gave up after the first couple and walked up to the Greyhound.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 9:40 pmChaplin with Morsy runner up.

Totally agree Shabba. Roy Keane aside, all other parties don’t really deserve that level of ridicule.
At the end of the day……. When things go paps, everyone and their mutt are slung under the bus. Its where Ashton & McKenna would be right now if the players didnt step up and earn their lucrative dosh. Thankfully they did.
In this instance……, Kieron McKenna, (for me) deserves the most respect for whats been achieved.
Urge everyone to go watch post match interview at The Gas……… clear message that things will change “if we focus” …… and thats exactly what came to fruition. Record breaking fruition. The guy is going to the top. The next “special one” and he’s @ Portman Road. That in itself deserves applause to Mevans for doing his homework on who to sell on to.
I hope you’ve all got hangovers today. Good ones. Go get yerselves a nice runny egg roll.

The investment is in the club now and that has made an enormous difference to what can be achieved.

Spot on Marco. You can have money to spend but it needs to be done correctly. His man management has been superb and to inspire the form shown over the last 14 games says a lot about himmarko69 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:27 amshabba wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 9:22 amSorry but I cannot condone that at all. For me a lot of credit needs to go to Ashton etc for taking the chance on McKenna and doing their due diligence on him.
Anyone promoted by Jose Mourinho has to be class, in the same way anyone promoted by Bobby Robson was class.

Even with the last two fixtures being Exeter & Fleetwood, Billy, you still thought it could be play-offs?
On board with that if it was Derby & SheffWeds etc……, but
