I, too, feel your pain KLB - having been widowed completely out of the blue at the age of 52.
There's nothing anybody can say to ease your pain, I know. All you can do is take things one day at a time and wait for the world to seem to be a far better place - it invariably will, of course, but there's no timetable for that.

I think our defence is going to look decidedly weaker / shaky if we lose, Burgess, O'Shea and Axel and there's every chance we could lose sll three of them.

Agree! Surely we’d want strong money for O’Shea though as he is under a long contract etchallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:08 pmI think our defence is going to look decidedly weaker / shaky if we lose, Burgess, O'Shea and Axel and there's every chance we could lose sll three of them.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
The only comfort I can take is McKenna said he was confident of keeping most of the squad together, and that there would be a couple possible departures. ( i think one was Delap, the other Burgess) ...
Ashton said some of our players will have their suitors which was to be expected.....mckenna " some change is healthy" ....
So hopefully we'll lose very few. But I am confident we are quite a way down the negotiation pathway for a number of players co.ing in.
Here we go then.... 4-6 weeks of rumours

Liz, I think there will be a glut of Premiership and Championship players on the summer market so if we lose a few players, however, the replacements will be of quality, Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal plus many more are letting lots of players leave, we do need a complete refurbishment of our squad and as KM said change is good, out with the old guard and in with the new.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:08 pmI think our defence is going to look decidedly weaker / shaky if we lose, Burgess, O'Shea and Axel and there's every chance we could lose sll three of them.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
I’m not sure we’ll see a lot of transfer activity considering we have several players still under contract. Obviously, we’ll need to fill the void of players who do leave, but I’m thinking it will be a few tweaks to the squad we have.
If we’re still competitive come the January transfer window, I can see us making a few more moves.
Couple questions:
1. How much money do we get as far as parachute allocation?
2. If we’re promoted again, will we qualify for the same PL bonus?

Could be a blessing in disguise. As I’m sure you know, severe ankle injuries are hard to recover from…long term.

Standard Parachute Payment Structure:ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:04 pmI’m not sure we’ll see a lot of transfer activity considering we have several players still under contract. Year 1 after relegation:
55% of the equal share of Premier League broadcasting revenue
Approximate amount: £44–46 million
Year 2 after relegation:
45% of the equal share
Approximate amount: £36–38 million
Year 3 after relegation (only for clubs that spent more than one season in the Premier League before relegation):
20% of the equal share
Approximate amount: £16–18 million
Clubs relegated after just one season in the Premier League (e.g. promoted and then immediately relegated) typically receive only two years of parachute payments.
So we get the first two years only. If we go back up wr are back on the 100m a year tv deal whilst in the prem.

Thanks Shabba!
Well we’re certainly in a better place than we were a few years ago as far as financial structure. I see no reason why our American owners would be concerned at the moment. We’re very stable as an organization, and I see no reason why we can’t continue to grow regardless of players or managers.

Yeah the challenge will be that we spent all the tv money on transfer fees last year - even though PSR wise they will be spread out over 3 years. Plus the wage bill will be vastly increased from the last time we were in the championship- so the parachute payments will mainly be helping to offset the increased wage bill.

That's a fraction of the money scum got when they were yo-yoing up and down from the PL... they've tightened up on that parachute money a lot. No wonder the PL is getting harder to stay in. Its an even more ridiculous " closed shop" now isn't it.

Well yes they are, and that's a very good point t you make tbh. Hasn't he just pulled out of an international too? But hes another player that I feel McKenna shelved, benched call it what you like. I do t think he played more than 50% of league games. And hes such a good forward, but i doubt a PL club will sign him if he has an ongoing injury.... that's our forté lol...

Did a bit of research regarding financial assets when comparing ITFC with NCFC. I think from what I’ve read, we’re in a much better place.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:16 pmThat's a fraction of the money scum got when they were yo-yoing up and down from the PL... they've tightened up on that parachute money a lot. I’ve been a fan of Sammie’s goal poaching abilities, but I’ve never felt he was an elite athlete. Now with his ankle injury, I don’t think he has a lot of productive playing years left. I really like him though. If he stays, I see him as an impact player as a sub.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:19 pmWell yes they are, and that's a very good point t you make tbh. In addition to this we have further backing from a different source ( not mentioned in that article). I cant recall their name, but think its some kind of venture capital concern, and they appear to provide money more directed to infrastructure spending, than players. Very clever ownership by Towns owners really.
So there's a much bigger spread of financial support for us whereas they have only a single individual ( much less clout ) and all their eggs in one basket scenario.
I hope that makes sense.... it barely does to me lol

Its a bit sad isn't it. He had a fantastic final season at Blackburn when managed to finally prize him away. But I suspect this coming season will tell if hes made a full recovery or not. As you say Town may decide to cash in while his stock remains high....ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:59 pmI’ve been a fan of Sammie’s goal poaching abilities, but I’ve never felt he was an elite athlete. He also said, Liz, after every defeat, that we would learn the lessons and improve. Look what happened there. Personally, I take everything he says with a pinch of salt.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:22 pmThe only comfort I can take is McKenna said he was confident of keeping most of the squad together, and that there would be a couple possible departures. Not sure I follow you Hallem, the payments have actually increased over the past 5 years etc.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:16 pmThat's a fraction of the money scum got when they were yo-yoing up and down from the PL... they've tightened up on that parachute money a lot. yes they would have pocketed more money though but only because they A) spent less B) were in the league more than 1 season.

Yes for sure, I'd basically say we have 'max' finanical support, i.e the onwers have FAR more money than we would ever be allowed to spend under the rules, i.e so they can easily back us to the max loss limits allowed. Norwich certainly aren't in that situation.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 7:04 amOh well doneITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:47 pmDid a bit of research regarding financial assets when comparing ITFC with NCFC. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/compa ... net-worth/.... i did wonder what their new owner was really worth. I knew he was miniscule compared to our backers. I think the big difference is hes an individual backing a club whilst our owners (funding) is more diverse and themselves funded by American public funds.

Striker right?
Hmm I’d rather have another as first choice, unless this guy is coming to be 2nd/3rd with Hirst.
