Re: January transfer window rumours.
All very depressing reading, more sh*te to choose from, no inspirational signing to lift the spirit of fans or players, this is what is so desperately needed.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Don't know much about Diarouaga, only what's there online.
Described as someone' who keeps shape and picks up the second ball'. OK... if this guy is going to partner Skuse ... guess what style of play MM wants? Don't expect driving runs, goals or head-up 40 yard passes.... think more another to hold Skuse's hand.
Looks like after a career of being loaned down the leagues and never fitting in , he peaked at Brentoford, particularly in 2015. ( won Supporters player of the year). Fell out with Brentford in Jan transfer window, picked up Leeds... started this season, but fell so far out of favour with Leeds his name was even not in the Leeds programmes showing squad members. Looks like we nicked him from Rotherham's grasping hands.
Welcome Toumami ... Best wishes and good luck.

He'll be Douglas' replacemrnt in.that defensive role. But it might release Douglas forward for a more attacking ( his true) role.

God, do you really believe that MM brings in this guy to unleash Douglas? Isn't it a bit late now for a 35 year old to be re-born as our attacking saviour? MM should have worked that one out when we got him a season and a half back.hallamblue wrote:He'll be Douglas' replacemrnt in.that defensive role. However good or bad Douglas is .... he's shouldn't be part of any kind of planning for the future for us.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
lol as I was posting that about Douglas I thought - how daft that might sound. But we are talking about Micks rationale here, not mine.
Personally I can wait for the season.to end to see back of Douglas . I.hope.
Dozzell is too lightweight for 90mins week after week IMO. but cameo roles for now are just fine. But we must utilise Lawrence.

Leicester City's wantaway striker Leonardo Ulloa would be a decent replacement for Daryl Murphy. Come on Evans show us some ambition.

Nice to have a player with a bit of presence in midfield.

£5m is the offer on the table......
We collected £11m for Mings & Murphy of which we've spent only £1.5m that leaves another £9.5m ..... half for Mick and half for Evans back pocket, sounds reasonable to me.

Now this would be a good signing, scores goals and creates goals, I like the look of this one.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Wigan Athletic star Max Power is the subject of a battle between Championship pair Brentford and Ipswich Town, according to the Daily Mail.
Both Brentford and Ipswich Town have reportedly offered £1.5m for the central midfielder’s services.
This report believes that Ipswich have offered Max Power better personal terms so have the edge in the race for his signature.
Max Power is an energetic central midfielder who has been the heartbeat of the Wigan midfield in the last couple of years.
The 23-year-old joined the Latics from Tranmere Rovers in 2015, having played over 100 games for the club he started his career with.
He has since played over 50 times for Wigan and is highly rated by the club after helping them win promotion last year and then settling quickly to life in the second tier.
Wigan are currently out of the relegation zone thanks to a preferable goal difference but they could lose their star man.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I'd read a slightly different version of that Mike.
Town offer the better personal terms but Brentford offered the higher fee.
Have to wait n see I guess.

What it suggests is that our transfer window is completely closed yet.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Not sure Mick would agree. MM would be the sticking point. Although Lawrence has no future here, he's probably MM's best bet at the moment in digging himself out of a sticky situation short-term.ashfordblue wrote:Looks like Newcastle are interested in Tom Lawrence, they have approached Leicester about him, although we have him on a season long lone, if Leicester and Tom agree to a move to Newcastle and Ipswich also agree, it could be on that we lose one of our best players, if I was Tom I would go like a shot, better club, better manager, in fact better every thing at Newcastle,

at least we will have Micks favourite good old Dougie to fill the gap, oh and plenty of loan stop gaps available, I can actually see this move happening,
Although .... maybe NUFC would loan us back Murphy if we agree to release Lawrence. Not sure Murphy would want to come back though.
I personally wouldn't care too much if Lawrence went. He's our best player, but we're going to have to deal with that anyway, whether now or in the summer. I don't believe we will get relegated, with or without him, so let him go and start planning for next season.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Town, Brentford and Wolves are all reported to have been keeping tabs on Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor.
According to the Bristol Post, all three Championship clubs have sent representatives to watch the 26-year-old on a number of occasions in recent weeks.
No bids have been received but the League One club are said to be bracing themselves for interest ahead of Tuesday’s 11pm deadline.
According to previous unconfirmed reports, the new two-year contract Taylor signed with Rovers in the summer includes a £300,000 release clause and that Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers are also among the interested clubs.
Taylor started his career with Oxford United but made only a handful of sub appearances before dropping into non-league, where he scored 80 goals in two seasons for Southern League South and West Division side North Leigh and won himself a move to Forest Green Rovers.
After a spell on loan at Chester, the 5ft 9in tall frontman moved to the Memorial Stadium on a free transfer in the summer of 2014.
Since then he has scored 67 goals in 111 starts and 20 sub appearances for Rovers during their climb from the Vanarama National League to League One in successive seasons.
Capped twice for the England C team, Taylor scored 28 times last season and has already amassed 19 goals during 2016/17.
YES !!! This is the one, no go and make it bloody happen !! Surely Marcus Stewart can help here.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Judging by the list of clubs interested him, I'd say not a hope. I concerned about the sheer number of players linked, offers put in, and Still no player has signed. Is Evans really not very good at this negotiating melarky , cos we rarely "get our man" do we !

Re: January transfer window rumours.
As BM has stated, go and get him in, I've been shouting in previous posts about Matty Taylor's goal scoring attributes last and this season, but he's bound to go elsewhere and we miss a golden opportunity for a player in the Marcus Stewart mould

Injured Hearts defender Callum Paterson could move to Ipswich Town as part of deal that would see Christophe Berra go in the opposite direction. Paterson, who is a recovering frmo a serious cruciate ligament injury and will be out for up to ten months, is out of contract at the end of the season. Hearts want to bring Berra back to Edinburgh to the club where he started his career. (The Sun)
