By 10pm last night it was 1/-1 here so we should be ok if like you say pitch doesn't freeze when covers come off.

Blimey it's a bit mild over there. We still have deep snow here and it was -4 deg last night!

Thinking about driving to Ipswich this afternoon, but like Derek says, it's a long way to travel if there's any risk of the match not being played or not completed.

Has there been any official statement relating to the match being at risk.

I have just been to town and back and it isnt that cold, I would say there is no chance of the game being in any doubt whatsoever.

The tent has been on all night, it's nowhere near as cold as it was when they last abandoned a game so it's all good.

Game on I would say.

Derick, it's great, and yet kind of annoying too don't you think? These extra people turning out in their numbers due to a winning team. Be great for the club if 28K turned out, but still slightly irritated.

Certain supporters could come along there, dragging their negativity behind them and it all goes tits up. Stay away you negative fkrs.

A crowd of more than 24,000 will be at Portman Road tonight to watch Town take on Charlton, with lower Sir Bobby Robson Stand sold out and very limited tickets available in Upper.

It will be the second highest home attendance of the season, behind the 25,245 that were at the derby against Norwich in August.

Supporters looking to book exact seats in any stand are now advised to book as early as possible online, using the ability to Print at Home

There have been large queues throughout the day at the Planet Blue store which are likely to remain throughout the day.

Ticket sales in Planet Blue will cease upon the turnstiles opening. Please note that the queue in-store may have to be cut off prior to this time to manage the queue effectively. After this time tickets for the match must be purchased from the turnstiles.
Going up all the while, just like the old days, can see it being close to 25,000

How do they work out the attendance , as looking at the ticket site only around 700,ish ( i counted..!! ) seats are left , this does not take into account the away end (as you can,t see the seats in that part)..so why the gap between 24 tickets sold and the 30,000 odd the ground holds..often wondered this anybody know the reasoning behind this figures..??..but looking at 25,000 tonight , maybe the biggest crowd of season so should be bouncing under lights...love night games..

24,000 !!! not just 24 :(

Fair one, it,s going to be busy..!!..hopefully good and loud and get the team going for a good win..!..Never struggle to get my same seat (Not allowed a season ticket at the moment as often away..still managed 11 games though.. ) as it,s one of those on it,s own in the SBRL , could be a issue next season though.!!..certainly wont bother me if it is though

suppose we found ourselves in lower mid-table for this game, then how many could we expect then ? 12,000 ? 14,000 ? (would seem a good attendance) - Certainly not the figures being quoted on this match-day thread.

Say what you like about them, but even Norwich more often than not get a home attendance of some 20 - 26,000 irrespective of where they find themselves in the league. Guess some fans only turn up when the team's doing well, or winning - and can't be bothered to attend at all other times. Not naming names , but you can imagine (or in fact be aware) that this applies to so many teams, and the ones that fill their home stadia regardless of performance (and remain loyal) are indeed getting more few and far between.

Seventeen votes to one on a home team victory would seem confident for sure, so can only hope our pre-game optimism doesn't bite us in the as* by the time of end of game. Shouldn't really say it, and my team allegiance needs no questioning, but a defeat or two really could lend some perspective. By that, some reality check required before we automatically assume we are indeed premier league class and already assured of a promotion, while only the halfway stage of the season is indeed upon us. After all, the bigger the expectation, the bigger the disappointment (when it doesn't work out)

I'm really happy for the lad. Needed a goal to hopefully get him started again.

Great result, keeping the pressure on.

Should be just about safe from relegation now

What a way to end the year infront of over 26,000 on a Tuesday night so way more than the 23,000 predicted.

Well deserved victory with McGoldrick hitting the post twice from two free-kicks thought Charlton only had 10 minute spell in the 2nd half, but apart from that 3 points well deserved.
