Seriously, Saints are not much cop either.
Only difference is they have scored with their only shot on target .

What a terrible match, this is why I couldn't give a toss about the cup, let alone replays.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Southampton F.A. Cup 3rd Round Replay
saints were not much cop , but we were really poor , terrible backwards passing , poor passing losing the ball , could be the worst game we have played for a while . Glad it was in the cup and not in the league..hopefully we can buck up a bit last two games have been really poor and DM seems really in a rut , Hyam needs to get into the swing of it as well as he was poor again today as well...but hey it,s the league that counts and can not complain on that front

There's nothing wrong with the FA Cup, ask anyone who watched West Ham v Everton last night or Spurs v Burnley tonight.... it's just a poor excuse for a second consecutive poor performance from a town side that lacked any quality and highlighted just how far behind Premiership standard we really are.
That said we're well up there with the best in The Championship which we can now focus on without any distractions.
Disappointing yes, but does it really matter, No.... so long as we can rekindle some league form very quickly.

That's the first full Ipswich match I've been able to watch in a long time. Frankly, I'm not impressed...but as some of you said, we were sh*t tonight---so I'm assuming that performance isn't the norm? Quick question, do we have anyone who can run with the ball? Yes I mean dribble for Christ sake! And what's up with the 50 yard back passes? Second half was better, but I'm disappointed with our display. I'm sure I'll be scolded by Bluemike. Agree Southampton weren't much better...if they do qualify for Champs league, they'll be knocked out in the first round. Also agree, Lawro's a tw*t...he sounds like he should be selling roasted chestnuts at Trafalgar Square.

Mark Lawrenson always talks crap which is one of the reasons why the BBC is so far behind Sky Sports when it comes to live football on television.
In my opinion BBC & ITV should never be allowed to cover live footie and should be limited to late night highlights only after most people have gone to bed.

Agree, the live coverage is poor, not many camera angles or replays eitherCharnwood wrote:Mark Lawrenson always talks crap which is one of the reasons why the BBC is so far behind Sky Sports when it comes to live football on television.

Yes agreed, the camera perspective was too wide...I love Sky's approach...tighter shots and much better directing.ipswichtownNo1 wrote:Agree, the live coverage is poor, not many camera angles or replays eitherCharnwood wrote:Mark Lawrenson always talks crap which is one of the reasons why the BBC is so far behind Sky Sports when it comes to live football on television.

To be fair you do need something to have happened first before you can show a replay!ipswichtownNo1 wrote:Agree, the live coverage is poor, not many camera angles or replays eitherCharnwood wrote:Mark Lawrenson always talks crap which is one of the reasons why the BBC is so far behind Sky Sports when it comes to live football on television.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Southampton F.A. Cup 3rd Round Replay
My comments were a generalisation, not just aimed at tonight's poor quality performance. I bet the BBC wish they'd have covered the six goal match at White Hart Lane and not the boring affair at Portman Road which really needed us to have a go at them to be a spectacle. Sadly this didn't happen and McCarthy was far more interested in not getting hammered which I guess is what we should have expected.TODD66 wrote:To be fair you do need something to have happened first before you can show a replay!ipswichtownNo1 wrote:Agree, the live coverage is poor, not many camera angles or replays eitherCharnwood wrote:Mark Lawrenson always talks crap which is one of the reasons why the BBC is so far behind Sky Sports when it comes to live football on television.

I suspect Gary and the boys were watching that one anyway. I know I would have been.
