Re: Fulham FC vs Ipswich Town Match Preview
Very important win that keeps the club in contention for the most important prizes. A play-off place still looks most likely but we'll take it. Still irritated to a certain extent about the lost points against teams such as Brighton and Wigan before today and they would have been a great help in our current position but you bite your tongue and move on. Two successive victories after the disappointing run is not quite a U-turn but there's still real opportunity ahead to do something. The days when Jewell and Keane for example would undertake our best interests and the crap they more often than not provided are thankfully a past statistic.
PS last player to score 20 + in the time suggested would have to be Stewart in 2000/01 ? Possibly Darren Bent after that, but I'll shoot for the former.

Great result! We've got Bournemouth, Brentford, Middlesborough, Watford and of course Norwich still to play. Automatic promotion is in reach and in our own hands!

It looked like he did it very early on when heading the first goal. The fact he stayed on the full 90 mins suggests it wasn't too serious.lucy wrote:Daryl Murphy has broken his nose.

Great away performance, 3 very valuable points in the bag. Congrats to DM - what a transformed player he has become in his natural, and preferred, position. TC also due great credit for working with DM to such good effect. But today everyone played their parts to maximum effect.
Although we went to 2-1, don't believe we were ever in serious danger. That said, another individual error could have had more serious consequences - something perhaps for MM to look at, although I don't anticipate defensive tweaking any time soon!
Brilliant away support
Certain that it was recognised and appreciated by MM and the lads.
A few injuries to be assessed, but consistency now the key.

Re: Fulham FC vs Ipswich Town Match Preview
Just back from another great away day with the travelling Blue Army and what a fantastic day and result it was. For me it was a thoroughly deserved Three points and while the performance may not have been vintage Town it was a solid, professional away performance which merited the win. Obviously the damage was done in the first half and in truth it could have been better had Bish and Sears not missed decent chances. Once again we are so grateful to Murphy for bagging a brace to take him onto 21 for the season, a quite incredible effort from our talisman, as MM said we scored both goals at really crucial times and that should have been game over to be fair.
The second half was not quite so comfortable but Fulham really didnt cause us too many problems at the back until yet another Tommy Smith howler let them back into the game, for Five minutes they raised their game but in truth there werent too many scares and we saw the game out despite playing the last few minutes with Ten men.
Clearly Murphy will be the MOTM but I also thought Skuse had yet another very good game indeed while Kevin Bru must have covered every blade of grass, man what an engine that guy has, he also has the composure to pick a pass rather than hoof it away although one crazy ball across our own box had me calling him every name under the sun !! Freddie Sears again worked hard and runs into some really good positioins, we havent missed McGoldrick at all, at the back Berra was more like his old commanding self while the Two fullbacks coped with most of what was thrown at them. A generally good all round display by the lads again.
The celebrations at the goals were great as always even if the first one did seem delayed as it all appeared to happen in slow motion and the relief at the final whistle was pretty intense. Our Skipper did the customary fist pumps as we all sang "The Town are going up" A great day to be a Town fan again and the blip is well and truly behind us. Two massive home games coming up and Six points would see us in a great place as we head to that lot up the road. Keep the faith, we are far from out of the automatic race.

Re: Fulham FC vs Ipswich Town Match Preview
For me it was an excellent away performance.
It might not have been champagne football at times but we were back to our best in pressing the opposition and making it very difficult for them to break us down. Credit to the guys up front in their effort in doing this as well as it meant the Fulham defenders were often under pressure when they were in possesion of the ball at the back.
Thought Bru was immense, Murphy was at his best and at one point in the 2nd half Skuse got so far forward I had to look twice to make sure it was him! We must cut out though these silly errors at the back which are making things more difficult for us than they should be.
2 home games to come now and as we have recently found out nothing must be taken for granted. Then of course it is up the A140 to take on that lot. I know how we all want us to win that game but the other 14 remaining matches are just important and will define how our season pans out.
This time last week the clouds seemed to be gathering but the sun has broken through again and hopefully long may it continue.
COYB!!!!

Back 4 back to Parr, Chambers, Berra, & Mings, Smudger can sit a few out on the bench, we cant afford for his mistakes with vital games coming up,

Totally agree. This was an all round professional performance. Even when we did concede we looked more likely to score and very nearly did with Berra. It seems we can move it up a gear when we need to.Shed on tour wrote:For me it was an excellent away performance.

The difference between the last 2 games and the previous blip period is we are working harder off the ball to close players down. That's been our key strength this season from the whole team. Press press press.
It's also nice that we tend to put really good deliveries into the box as well now from corners especially. We used to hit the first man all the time, one of the most frustrating things to watch.
Great away day and we have a really exciting few months to come.

Think maybe he's referring to Forfar, an obscure club side from the depths of Scottish soccer Gold and Black, not your own team and a loss to Norwich City.goldandblack wrote:My sincere apologises for our total lack of commitment to beating em..We were lucky that if they had been any good it would have been double figuresmarko69 wrote:* whispers * Best that the Loons aren't mentioned here tonight.Anyway on to the next game, COYW
Once more, another important win yesterday that keeps us in the promotion race. Well done to all involved.

Typically the Loons turn in what must have been their worst performance of the season whilst on TV

What has Parr got to do to be first choice? He's performed well every time he's played.
Mick has to be brave and make the choice.
Tommy's made a couple of obvious errors recently and a short rest might get him focussed for the end of the season.

Smith is so one dimensional, and one footed. He needs to come out IMO and Parr at right back
Parr..............Chambo..............Berra............Mings

You lot must have been loud at the Cottage! I think Chambo may have been taking a jab at the boo boys with his "We've got to stick together..." comment?

Parr has made a strong impact every time he has come on in left MF hasn't he? Not a bad option to have on the bench. I wouldn't change it just yet.

Yes he has and I would like to see Parr start Left Mid tomorrow if Tabby is out with the head injury he picked up.
