A couple of websites saying Sears but it wasn't obviously.

I see Murphy & Pitman being first choice pairing.
Interesting you don't see Sears starting upfront?. Or do you see him playing just behind?.
No I dont see him starting up front initially although I don't doubt we will rotate a bit and he will get his chance, I just think Murphy is a cert and Pitman is a natural goalscorer who won't be coming here to sit on the bench.

Deffo 1st Town goal Maitland-Niles

So no one fancies McGoldrick in the starting line-up. To be honest he is our deepest striker out of the lot so no idea what Mick's gonna do...

dont think sears will be content to sit on the bench either. I think Pitman will find it hard to break up the murphy sears partnership.

I think he's gonna have to get used to being on the bench at times, just the same as Pitman & Didsy will have to. I just feel MM will start with Murphy & Pitman in the opening games but it could just as easily be Freddie I guess.

Bet McGoldrick doesn't complete the season so Sears or Pitman could sit just behind a front two of either one pairing Murphy.

It's a possibility, and like you have said before, I like the idea of McGoldrick playing behind a front two. However, playing a third striker behind two others is unlikely if - as some hope - MM is going to play genuine wide midfielders. I don't envisage a 4-3-1-2 formation if 2 of the midfield 3 are out-and-out wingers.

What it does mean, as many have said before, is that MM has more options than ever, not just in terms of personnel but tactics and formation. Careful selection and utilisation of substitutes could be crucial as it will allow us to change formation during a match.

If Pitman gets a fair crack of the whip regarding games played, I can easily see him being top scorer forbus, high 20's

Just home from peterborough and all in all it was as I expected, a decent fitness workout with a typical pre season look and feel about it. The result was right as neither really created an awful lot by way of clear cut chances.

I was particularly impressed with Maitland-Niles first half while fraser & Didsy also done some nice work and both looked a handful, Second half was virtually a whole team switch after about an hour and for me Adam McDonnell look impressive while Josh yerworth didnt look out of place at the back, I liked the way he appeared to be marshalling his defence etc. Murphy clearly needs game time as he was a little rusty but that is to be expected.
