As it’s on sky I doubt it would be on town tv? Sky have the exclusive right I think.

Video match passes are available to overseas supporters for most league matches, excluding those chosen for international broadcast. If a match is selected for overseas broadcast, it will only be available in 'unsold markets' - territories where there is not a broadcast agreement in place.
Not sure it it being on sky means its international or not?

Ok thanks. I'll let you know if I'm able to watch it via TownTV.shabba wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:14 pmVideo match passes are available to overseas supporters for most league matches, excluding those chosen for international broadcast. It's looking like you are right, because I'm still not seeing a match pass for the Sunderland match. Luckily, ESPN+ is airing the match along with season coverage of the Championship. Just mentioning it for our international fans, I don't think ESPN+ is available in the UK?number 9 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:31 pmOk thanks. I'll be pleased if Ipswich get any result from this match. Tough venue and opening day fixture. Good early test for Town

Didn't vote as no idea what will occur. We could win, they could win, they could run out winners by a big score and vice versa. All you ask is the players are ready for the start and put in a performance that justifies any salaries. All things are possible in any league, until it's underway and reaches a finish you just can't tell.
Found no rush to recommence action, (been) kind of content with no League games. Enjoying quiet and time away from the hustle and hurry of it all. Could have got by another few weeks without the team back in real action, just haven't missed it. In a minority for sure but that's the truth of it.

We can do this, avoid defeat and that will be a decent start at a very tough place.

To use a phrase I just read in the EADT " Success will not be defined by the opening day alone", so even a defeat wouldn't be the end of the world.
For me the performance is key. If we go head to head with Sunderland that will be very heartening, regardless of result. If, and there's no reason to believe we can't, we return to Suffolk with 3 points, then likewise we need to enjoy it for its full worth, but not get too wrapped up in it.
I am working this evening, hoping to tune in to some radio commentary in the. van. All the best to you travelling Blues today! Revel in the atmosphere of a 40k crowd, playing a big team, knowing that will be nearer the norm for the coming season. Consign those miserable trips to those tiny grounds of L1 to history. Onwards and upwards

A defeat today defines nothing, nor does a victory, as you say Mark we need to measure the game today on our performance more than anything. Cast your mind back to the season Sunderland got promoted back to the Championship, we played them off the park twice and didn't get our rewards, no reason we can't do it again today. Quieten the crowd early doors is the key, they csn turn very quickly. COYB'S

Whole-heartedly agree. While a win would be wonderful and a draw more than satisfactory, it's all about the performance. Many expect Sunderland to be in the hunt for promotion and SOL is never an easy place to goAzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 10:54 amTo use a phrase I just read in the EADT " Success will not be defined by the opening day alone", so even a defeat wouldn't be the end of the world.

I can take defeat today as long as we compete and show up …. Not many teams will get a result at SoL this season I think.

Blimey... After two VPNs and a lot of shouting at my laptop I've finally managed to fool NOW TV into giving me a one day sports pass in Spain....COYB!

Certainly a reality check I would be more than happy with a draw.

Re: Championship - Sunderland AFC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
After a nightmare hooking up to Sky Sports coverage with a day pass I’ve finally got connected 8 mins in. Just thinking we’re not in this game and suddenly we have two chances to take the lead.
Maybe I can sit back and relax now in the comfort of my hotel room in Salamanca.
I think it’s time to raid the mini bar.

Had exactly same issue from Calella... Anyway this is a good game for us to start with... It shows the standard that's requiredCharnwood wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 5:22 pmAfter a nightmare hooking up to Sky Sports coverage with a day pass I’ve finally got connected 8 mins in. Re: Championship - Sunderland AFC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
We seem to be giving the ball away a lot, sometimes with a bad pass and sometimes simply getting caught in possession. We really need to stop doing this if we want to win this game.

The ball has been in our own box even when we have possession.
