Put it this way, I'm definitely not Woolfy's biggest fan by any means and never have been but the performances he put in across the first Three games besides Greaves was way better than anything I've seen from O'Shea who for me is bang average at best.

Having heard rumours from a very good source that there was a difference of opinion between Woolfy and Mckenna a few weeks back it could very well see him depart in January, I just hope Burgess and O'Shea follow him out the door too, bizarrely Edmundson was probably better than all of them.
I'd heard from a friend of mine who's nephew wasnt best pleased with Woolfie when he had made a concerted hit on this guy's partner a while ago, despite being told to sling his hook in no uncertain terms.

I've always felt he's a bit of an arrogant sod, tbh and perhaps he's not taken well to the competition in the club for 1st team places that exists.

With regards to O'Shay, I don't see him any worse than Woolfenden, but I do think he has more physical presence than Woolfie, but I agree, O'Shay hasn't set the world alight as a CB like Greaves has. But maybe McKenna sees a more natural CB in O'Shay that can be developed, than he does Woolfie.

Personally I've always been hard pressed to see why some on twtd put him up on a pedestal and gush over him the way they do, because for me he's always been basic, at best. I don't think he's a natural defender, but I'm hard pushed to identify where his best position in a team would be. If he does leave in Jan, I wont be shedding any tears. Id rather we got in better CB's, and to stay up I think that's exactly what this Club will be doing.

As for Edmundson, I'd agree he was one of the better ones of the three ( Burgess, Woolfie and Fridge), but he was sacrificed ( being played on his non dominant, left side), to accommodate Woolfenden!

On the other subject of goalkeepers , it looks like McKenna is sticking with Muric ....

He has to back his man, spent the dollar on him and even if he isn’t confident he needs to show support to him, GK is a position that relies on confidence.

Anyway - who isn’t fit still?

Ogbene - out all season?
Axel - out for some months
Greaves - out until late November or so?
Taylor - out for a little while?
Johnson - out for??

Morsy - might be back?
Clarke - suspended
Masimo - might be back?
Omari - should be back as was just illness?

My team for today if I was Boss.........

Walton

Johnson Woolfenden Burgess Davis

Morsy Phillips

Hutchinson Szmodics Chaplin

Delap

What I think KM will go with......

Muric

O'Shea Woolfenden Burgess Davis

Cajuste Phillips

Szmodics Chaplin J.Clarke

Delap

I have heard/seen/read several comments that Delap is nursing an injury so if that is correct Hirst could well start again and put in a good 65 minute shift. It sounds like Morsy may not be fit enough to do a whole game either so if that is the case there is little point in starting him.

Looks like he's going to get chosen no matter how poor he is,he's a waste of money.Ok maybe a scapegoat for the poor start, with Tuanzebe & Greave in front of him,we were solid enough against Villa.

It's just his blooming concentration levels and decision making. Sort that out he's a keeper of presence in the box.

Me too. I like that Mike, I know you have been one of his fiercest critics (and with just cause) and that is exactly what we need - Muric will be painfully aware of his part in Brentford's 4th goal, but if the SBR give him a positive and noisy collective 'hug' when he runs out, it will no doubt mean a lot. Berating him, as no doubt some will sadly, helps no one, least of all the team on the pitch.

Yes, I'm with you on both on that. There's a very good keeper in there somewhere....

I very rarely berate players at the game, what we say on here is purely letting off steam for our own frustrations, I don't condone booing anyone and will happily tell prats that if it's near me.

👍👌....., exactly how I see things when attending football matches, ......., unless the boo-ers have a face and eyes like Mike Tyson ....., then it's not worth the hassle!

We're lining up 4-2-3-1, I'm astonished, never expected that. So are the opposition, maybe they're attempting to emulate us or something.

Seems thus far they're way ahead in terms of possession, we haven't had much of the ball etc. They could or should be ahead but still less than 20 minutes into the contest. Thought ahead of time we'd win today. This does represent a very good opportunity for a first victory what with home advantage and players we possess over theirs. Guessing somehow we need more of the ball, they possession they've had up 'til now can only lead to a goal unless something changes. They seem to be having more goal opportunity also.

Missed opportunity by O’Shea on 31 mins, should at least have got his free header on target.

Based on the first 30 mins one goal could win this. So much better with Hutchinson on the right which for most of us is so obvious.

Great effort from Chaplin on 38mins. Only marginally off target. Town definitely on top.

Their fans say they've been poor first 45, the players they got out there today just haven't performed but stats suggest they've had the better of it or come closest to being ahead. Think something needs to be changed at the interval, you can see an opportunity here.

Suggest Hirst or Burns be introduced second period, if not that at least Broadhead and Luongo. When match fit players like these can at least make a difference. Simple math here, we got 45 minutes remaining to get a win over beatable opposition with a home advantage that by all account from their own support have been poor and ineffective. This is a great opportunity with time remaining, it's not rocket science. Go for it FFS.
