Re: Premier League - Ipswich Town vs Manchester United Preview & Matchday Thread
Voted to win and we should do it too. There should be players back for us after suspension or injury with the two week rest and the opposition really aren't up to much. Years back we'd have a good record at Portman Road against these and while a 6 - 0 1980 repeat won't come to pass the opportunity presents itself to take another victory from this.
Bottom line here if the team can win at a talented Spurs team in London then they can take further victory over an ineffective MUFC squad with a home advantage. This really is a very good opportunity for three points here but the manager and team need to be up to take that chance.

It's probably the way he plays as much as anything, big, strong and powerful lad who mixes it with defenders all game, Three bookings ain't actually too bad.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 11:00 pmOh well that’s good if he is on 3 and not 4… I thought I read somewhere that he was a booking away from a ban… what the hell is he picking up bookings for anyway?

Thought I read two of the three yellows for for dissent?Bluemike wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 9:21 amIt's probably the way he plays as much as anything, big, strong and powerful lad who mixes it with defenders all game, Three bookings ain't actually too bad.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 11:00 pmOh well that’s good if he is on 3 and not 4… I thought I read somewhere that he was a booking away from a ban… what the hell is he picking up bookings for anyway?

No, it's 2 yellows for being decent. Prem refs don't like us being like that.

Re: Premier League - Ipswich Town vs Manchester United Preview & Matchday Thread
Coming down tomorrow for this.
Every now and then you have a special kind of game where you badly want a win. Where win means more than 3 points. That is the game for me tomorrow.
I live among Man Utd fans, work with them. There has been a week of banter but some of them were cocky a bit. 'We are Man Utd blah blah, we should beat you, we'll smash your arses blah blah'. To see their faces at work should we win would be totally priceless for me.
Can't stand their megalomania. Just please Town ! Please do it.

They have been terrible so far, but I'm concerned they will get a new manager bounce. A draw would be a great result.

To remind the team that Mancunians can't count to 100??
It's a tough game, they are exactly the kind of team to work hard for a new manager only to give up after a couple of months and then try and get them sacked after a few more. Pathetic bunch of players, but talented enough that points from this game is a big ask.

COYB's......., got to win this. I mean the new Manure boss does have the exact correct attitude in his thinking, (from the interview) "The world still turns, the sun will still come up again tomorrow" ---->> ok. yep, nice, basically IT IS only football, but got to pump them at Portman Road, for the homegrown fans, and for the travelling fans like MPB making that effort even though Storm Bert advises otherwise. All they ask is the "effort" is equalled on the pitch.

Yep, need Greaves back. That middle pairing of Burgess and O'Shea could have a very difficult afternoon.

Re: Premier League - Ipswich Town vs Manchester United Preview & Matchday Thread
We could have done without conceding early and have now settled down and creating chances of our own but need to convert one before half time.
Diallo looks to have the beating of our left side defence and has too much pace for Leif Davis which could be a problem especially with him pressing forward.
