Please keep doing it HB - anyone who filters TWTD so I don't have to read it gets my votehallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:36 amI do use TWTD CB....![]()
Tbh I can't see the problem transferring topics of conversation between forums to raise discussion. MB is being silly, and certainly doesn't enter into the spirit of social media where ideas, discussions are transferred. I never try to make out they are my ideas or discussion. In fact I always reference where it's come from.

If Delap doesnt leave, we will lose Hirst, who I'd personally prefer to keep above Delap, because I feel he's the better all round striker. But we all see things differently....ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 7:04 pmLiam’s replacement if he leaves?

I’d love for Delap to stay, but there’s no way in hell his agent will let that happen. So I think it’s safe to say Hirst will stay.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 10:26 pmIf Delap doesnt leave, we will lose Hirst, who I'd personally prefer to keep above Delap, because I feel he's the better all round striker. There is less than zero chance he will stay Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle all being linked with him and being touted for England for a reason ! He's gone.

Re: Delap
He’d look out of his depth in a senior England game right now I think. Yer, of course he’s gone, and I’m personally not actually worried about that. But what really pees me off is we’re giving him away.

Thinking about Delap’s inevitable departure, I’ve been contemplating where I’d like to see him end up. I think Newcastle would be the perfect club because he’d get plenty of game time, and he could possibly avoid the politics of some of the bigger clubs.
There’s also the Sir Bobby link, and let’s not forget that’s where Shearer ended up…arguably one of England’s best strikers.

I doubt he’d play much as they have arguably the best striker in the league (given Harland and cities dip).ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:18 pmThinking about Delap’s inevitable departure, I’ve been contemplating where I’d like to see him end up. Re: Delap
You’ve lost me completely 9, why would the Sir Bobby link play any part on where Liam Delap chooses to go next ?ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:18 pmThinking about Delap’s inevitable departure, I’ve been contemplating where I’d like to see him end up. Or the fact that Shearer chose to sign for his hometown club. I just don’t see any connection. Am I missing something ?

I just meant it would be meaningful to me to watch him progress at Newcastle based on history. I didn’t mean it would motivate Liam to wanna go there. I’m turning into an old softy I suppose haha!Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 9:49 pmYou’ve lost me completely 9, why would the Sir Bobby link play any part on where Liam Delap chooses to go next ?ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:18 pmThinking about Delap’s inevitable departure, I’ve been contemplating where I’d like to see him end up. Loved being at Augusta last week 9, nice part of the world you live. I can’t say Atlanta is my favourite airport though, omg how busy is that place.

Have to say I’m really glad I moved here. There’s a lot I miss about Texas, but it was too congested and the weather was extreme. I rarely go to Atlanta to be honest I’m over living in the big city. Carrollton is a lovely college town/Retirement community. Lots of green and not so much concrete. Also, I’m closer to my daughter.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 11:29 pmGot it

Anyway sorry for hijacking the thread. Wouldn’t it be lovely if young Liam decides to stay with us?!

We stayed by Lake Oconee close to Greenbro midway between Atlanta and Augusta, it was fabulous.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 12:29 amHave to say I’m really glad I moved here. Anyway, Liam Delap for my money will end up at Arsenal who are in most need of a striker and almost guaranteed a Champions League slot. In fact if they play against PSG like they did against Real Madrid they could qualify as winners.
We can only hope today they field a weakened side, however with so much at stake that’s probably unlikely. Our next hope is that Palmer puts up another brilliant performance in goal.

Newcastle and ManU favorites to lure Delap, hopefully Newcastle like I said before:

Re: Delap
He had a pretty good season with us while the team struggled. Having said that, I doubt very much if any top club would be interested in signing him as anything other than a bench warming squad player.
He might be attractive to a promoted team, or a decidedly mid table club.
If the reported release figure of £30m is accurate, I honestly think that is not far off his level.

Re: Delap
Have to disagree - £30m for a striker is not much now (saldly), add that he is young, English and somewhat proven in the PL - it’s a good deal which IMO most clubs should look at.
Even as a backup for 30m it doesn’t seem bad business to me. If you wanted a Mateta, Wisa or such surely they are well north of £40m for example.

I don’t care where he goes, as long as it doesn’t drag on all bloody summer. We need to get in a replacement and move on. I just hope and pray Hirst signs the new contract and stays …. I really rate him.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 1:57 pmNewcastle and ManU favorites to lure Delap, hopefully Newcastle like I said before:
