Put it this way.Mick would be daft not to play

Parr. ....Chambo......Berra. ....Jonas

I honestly wouldn't want to see T'S as first choice CB now.

Midfield?

.....................Skuse................

AMN. .................................... Fraser

..................McGoldrick. ..............

...........Pitman...........Murph.........

No Sears??? Not sure i would include mcgoldrick either, sure he has the talent but recent form and his attitude concern me. Murphy has knocked him dowm a peg or two in selection imo. I hope he does sort it out , when hes on form he is a game changer.

TS is class
Don't write him off as many seem to do.
He scores goals as well as a great defender. His heart is ITFC
The goal he scored at Carrot Rd and his sprint over to us makes him a top guy.
COYB.

He is not class, a squad player at best. Only in the team due to chambers covering RB. Now we have RB sorted chambers and berra will secure the CD roles.

While not wishing to start using a player as a scapegoat I have to agree where Tommy Smith is concerned, for me he is a squad player and back up at best, very good in the air, in fact after Murphy the best at the club, however with the ball on the floor he is like a quivering jellyfish, I get the bit that he plays on the wrong side of the defence but even so he is so uneasy with the ball and for a pro it aint great, even worse is when he allows a ball to bounce, it nearly always ends up with us in trouble or conceding, if we have real aspirations this season Chambo needs to partner Berra at CB.

With Berra being out at Brentford I think it would be foolish to play him today however so Smith and Chambo in today in readiness for next week, after that my starting 11 at Brentford would probably be something like this :-

.......................Bialkowski..........................

Parr...........Chambers.....Smith..........Knudsen

Niles..........Skuse........Bishop..........Fraser

..............Murphy.......Pitman......................

Subs :- Gerken Yorwerth McGoldrick Sears Bru

Obviously Berra would be back in for the following week with Smith making way and Tabby or someone on the bench for yorwerth. Clearly there is a fair few players who will be struggling to even make the bench so I don't go along with the theory that we are short on numbers.

bluemike wrote:If the 350K for Knudsen is correct it could well prove to be another absolute steal, he sounds versatile and scores goals, by all accounts he is known for his massive throw ins too which can be a potent weapon at times.

I really don't see the point in this Jobi McAnuff guy though, to me that would be a tad disappointing, Dallas looks to be on his way to Leeds so that is a bit of a no story.

PBB, the rumours regarding Scott Allen have been circulating for some time now so maybe there is no smoke without fire.

I don't know if it is right or not but I have read somewhere that we are not due anything from Wickham's proposed move to Palace.

Well if the current bun is to be believed, we're paying £1:5 million for Knudsen, that's if their to be believed!

I can't see that because the clause we supposedly activated in his contract was 350k - 550K ??

2 free signings in Coke and Toure will they get in the starting line up? Who knows but least gives us more depth to the squad

Giles Coke is neat and tidy in the middle of the park, he will do the simple stuff well I suspect while none of us have really seen anything of Toure so therefore it is hard to pass judgement on him just yet, if MM thinks they are good enough who am I to argue, I did that with Noel Hunt, Richard Chaplow and Luke varney and all Three of them had their moments last season. I don't however see Coke & Toure as first team regulars that's for sure.

Slightly off topic but has anyone seen news regarding Rhodes, Boro are apparently putting big offer in, does surprise me where they get the money, if it is indeed true.

Think Blackburn will have to let him go. No point in keeping a player who wants to leave, as he clearly does, (££££)

I said yesterday to Bluemike that Blackburn are my team to struggle this season, as they are losing their better players. I would also say Boro wont be much threat if they cant replace Bamford.

RIP Cilla...cant belive she's died tbh. Not exactly old.

That all depends on how TS plays against Brentford. If he plays a blinder then I don't see how he could be left out for the next game. I know we've had this discussion about Berra and TS before and our opinions completely differ - for me Berra is the squad player. Be interesting to see how it pans out ;)

Looks like I might have to hold off putting the preview up until I know which side Douglas could be turning out for...!

Joking apart, I have been impressed on the odd occasion I have seen him play, and think he could be a very good signing to strengthen our attacking options in midfield further.

Unless Brentford say he can't because it could be a condition of him getting a freebie, so he could join us.

Hi All
I'm new to the site It looks like MM has made another good signing with Hyam injured and Teddy having trouble with shin splints Douglas might be 33 years old but he made 46 starts scoring 8 times last season and he's another free.

Welcome Kerry Blue!

Mick just doesnt know when to stop signing decent players does he!

Douglas is a leader, with loads of experience and i think a box to box type of player, eho can score goals. Priceless aquistion nin my book, and probably for free. Cant knock it ,can you.
