And good luck Fridge. I hope he continues to do well at Boro.
Yes indeed, he can count himself a little unlucky at being moved on when others who are no better have stayed.
Given he only made 10 appearances last season in the Championship and I think only one or two appearances so far this season, it must be in both sides best interest that he moves on and for him at 27 that he can play regular football. Wishing him well at Boro.

It beggars belief he wasn’t in our team more, in his rightful right CB position. He’s shinning at Boro in that role. He was forced to play on the left of the defence ( not easy for a right footed player). He’s an honest individual and player and I wish him well at Boro.

Agreed, I felt he was better than Burgess and Woolfenden.

I actually feel the issue they are trying to address here is the lack of quality coming off the bench. So many opponents are bringing on 50m+ of talent and we are often bringing on players who were recently in league 1.

I think some will drop out entirely, Burns etc. Yes not all the star players will start now but at least the bench options will be very strong.

Otherwise it seems we are having done to us what we were doing to teams in L1/Champ, i.e bringing on real quality on 70mins against tired legs and scoring late goals as a result. I recall especially in League 1 it felt like a cheat code what with the quality we had off the bench.
Yep ^^^^ Word.

I think he was good defensively but his distribution wasn’t the best and certainly not good enough for the Premier League. I much prefer O’Shea and Greaves together and think he’s more at his level in the Championship and if I were him I’d much prefer a regular place at Boro than be a bit part player with us.

I don't think he was forced to go to Middlesborough on loan anyway. I bet it was his choice, and he probably relished the chance of playing regular football again, and now he's won himself a permanent deal. I bet he's happy as a clam at the moment. Good luck to him!

Now if we could also find another place for the likes of Jack Clarke, Al Hamadi, Burns et al. I think J.C. could benefit from a loan spell playing regular football. We should definitely keep him on the books. He may be useful in the Champ if we get relegated. I think there are probably greener pastures for Al Hamadi elsewhere. He hasn't quite made the jump up, has he? And Burns (one of my favourite players last season) is also struggling in the Prem, so a loan spell with a Championship team may be a prudent move, although I bet, he'd kick and scream to stay put.

He's a player I certainly would be sad to see leave. Yes, he may be top end Championship level, (not quite EPL) but he's a proper old school footballer, (when he's on his game) ....., masses of respect for Conor Chaplin.

I really hope he gets a chance to play at Stoke and performs well.

I am convinced he is a Joe Tortolano type. (Hibs player from the 80s/90s)......, absolutely fantastic in training but struggles to convert the talent to the pitch on matchday.

Good luck to you Ali and will be keeping an eye on your progress.

Sky just said Ipswich could be busy and looking for a CF and possibly a winger if Burns injury is bad and possibly center MF if the right player is available.

Yep, must admit, based on highlights -->> bit of a Harry Clarke fan. He is definitely a decent football player. Not brilliant by any means, but he's decent. Certainly an asset to the club should the R word happen.

A post on twtd has said they've heard rumours that Broadhead is on his way to Swansea. Will be sad if this is true as whenever he's come on, he's looked quality. But I had heard a long while ago that he supposedly doesn't mix that well with the squad as a whole.

Something to do with his driving licence, Hallam? Tell the person (who told you he doesn't mix well) to tell Nathan that he can do it all online these days.

Is Conor really going away somewhere? Pretty peeved off about that if I'm honest. Very good player. Also a decent "off the ball" player as well. Disrupting other teams' formations with quick darting runs. And has scored in a 3rd of his Ipswich starts. (143-49 ratio) ....., yes ok, mostly Champ & LG1 , but still knows how to play. Only 27 as well.

What about other stuff about Conor Chaplin that I may not be aware of......., is he at fault a lot of the time for oppositions build up to goals?
