Brilliant brilliant brilliant!. We took our time first half got stuck in and got our reward. Second half i thought Charlton started the better of the 2 teams but not for long. Such a great feeling walking out at the end singing my heart out with everyone. McGoldrick worked his socks off the whole game and was so unlucky not to of scored 2/3 goals tonight.

Another fantastic night in this crazy crazy season. The win was more of a hard fought grinding out type of match than the flair and style we have witnessed in recent matches but I thought for the most part we were in the ascendancy and deserved the Three points, in fact by the end of the game it could have been more. Charlton are no mugs though and at the start of the second half they did give it a go for a while.

Super Tommy Smith started it off with another goal after Murphy had fluffed his attempt and this was after Didsy had been so unlucky with a freekick that cannoned off the inside of the post and to safety. From another freekick poor Didsy smacked it off the other post and somehow it stayed out again, Berra cleared one away from just in front of the line at the other end but we were good value for our half time lead. After Charlton's good spell at the start of the second half we gradually assumed control again and the second came after Didsy incredibly hit the woodwork for the third time, this time it was off the bar but that mad Murphy was on hand to gobble up the rebound. It felt like it was game over but Charlton did at least keep going in an attempt to get back into it and we again had Berra to thank for clearing another one off the line. As the clocked ticked down Didsy finally got the goal he so richly deserved after being put through by Murphy he dinked it over the keeper and into the net, the relief on his face was clear to see and it can only do him good. Even at this late stage it could have been 4 or even 5 as Didsy missed a one on one before Bru should have scored and then Murphy almost set up his strike partner for a header at the far post.

Yet again it was a solid team performance by all Eleven players with for me Smith and Berra absolute rocks at the back while Skuse had another super game, Parr and Tabby did all that was expected and Bish had a super first half, Murphy was shackled for much of the game by the two big CB's but he still put in a hell of a shift and scored one and made one so it aint to bad, 17 for the season for him now. We have extended the gap to seventh place to 10 points and even have a 4 point gap from Boro in fourth so it is getting better and better, should we beat Third place Derby the position will be an incredible one. That is one defeat in Twenty games and we show no signs of wilting, in fact we are getting stronger. Four wins and a draw in December should be enough for MM to be MOTM again. Over 26,000 have witnessed what all the fuss is about and hopefully the sky cameras wont keep too many from returning Saturday week in what should be a cracker. What a crummy old season this is.

I'm at a loss for words and that happens rarely.

I've not been to see us play since either the Norwich or Fulham game, so for me tonight was incredible. To see a side, no, my side, play comfortably, controlled and patiently waiting for it to come together was a joy. Once the first went in you could just feel it would go on from there.

Yes, Charlton did start brighter out of the two, but we soon stiffled that and got back into gear. This idea that we hoof the ball was lost on me. Yeah there were a few cleared balls, but we seemed to prefer knocking it around rather smartly. Anything long was considered and executed not just wayward and smashed up the field.

After painfully watching McGoldrick hit the posts it was with a proud smile I got to see him knock one in towards the end. Well taken too I might add. Something you would see a striker full of confidence do, rather than one looking to find his feet again.

I also felt a bit for Noel Hunt at the end. Full of energy for the fleeting appearance he made. He was unlucky not to score with his first touch. Something that made me wonder if it would have helped extend his stay. He looks hungry and I hope, wherever he ends up, it works out for him.

This was my first chance of seeing Bishop and i can see where all the raving comes from. Proper little talent there isn't it? Another one to try and keep hold of I feel. He's still short of match length fitness and was taken off towards the end, but that'll come. I was a little confused as to the booing that followed but it seems that's how we welcome the other talent I've not seen before. Bru, for the short time he was on the pitch looked like he could knock a few deft passes around and cause problems.

And all this from an Ipswich side that apparently, according to my mate, had an off night tonight. f**king off night? I hope I get to see them when they're firing then cause that will be truly special. As the added time came rolling along, we seemed to still step up a gear. I mean it wouldn't have been unusual to see us come away with 4 or 5 tonight. I actually asked my mate if we were starting to take the p*ss out of them.

Another chambers fist pump to end the evening, which looked like it kept a good 18'000 in the ground to see. The feel good factor is truly at Ipswich at the minute.

So as I started this by saying I was at a loss for words, before rambling on, I'm gonna end with our current form, because that needs nothing said about it.

Absolutely fantastic, McCarthy really has turned Portman Road back into the fortress it used to be, which gives us a tremendous foundation to build on and as we go into 2015 it is all very exciting.

I can hardly remember the last time it felt so good being a Town supporter.

Read the report from a rival page and can only give all involved plaudits and acknowledgement in registering another (comprehensive) victory and further progress taken.

There will be the distraction of the FA Cup tourney coming up soon and that will provide some fine entertainment against an EPL team, to gain a better understanding of how far this team has come. Still not able to even think about a promotion however. While this is some mighty fine progress and beating opposition more often than not, still prepared to wait a little longer before getting too carried away. The derby county game in a short time should be a game of epic proportions also with both club sides where they find themselves.

Great to be part of the 26K+ at PR last night; fantastic atmosphere, despite lack of PA system!

Agree with all that's been said regarding both performances and result - in the end the stat that matters the most. Had Didys's other efforts gone in then the score could well have been doubled. Both offensively and defensively we were miles better than Charlton. Whilst our midfield worked tirelessly, however, I thought there were periods when we were not as effective as in past matches - partly due to Charlton's high pressure tactics, which resulted in us conceding possession too easily in 50/50 situations, or making rushed passes. BUT whilst we now all want to see perfection, the team performance overall was excellent, and the win thoroughly deserved. So congratulations and thanks to MM/TC and all the lads for making us all so happy, and proud to support ITFC. Same levels of support for the rest of the season will do nicely.
