Has the ITFC defence been as bad as Huddersfield this season? Dear God, that Dicko goal was unreal.

Back to winning ways, shame about Watford Middlesbrough & Norwich sneaking goals at the end but I'll take the win thank you. Back on track.......

Best win of the season in my opinion Charnwood. Extremely uplifting. And the table looks great tonight. Fulham game is going to be very tasty indeed.

Man what a turn around 1-0 down at half-time despite as having the best of chances but if only May scored that chance for Sheff Wed when clean through could of been a different story but never seen a team get so lucky down here mistake after mistake, but some how we managed sneak 2-1 win

Re: Ipswich Town vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview
Well that was much better all round and a thoroughly deserved three points, but in true Ipswich tradition we did it the hard way. I was quite pleased when i saw the starting line up although I would probably have dropped Smith but to see no Anderson, McGoldrick and Tabb was pleasing, I was a tad surprised at Bru & Mings being left out.
I thought the first half was a much improved performance on the last Two games but we had tended to play too many high balls forward, Murphy was winning a few in the air and I thought he linked up well with Sears who has great movement and creates things with his runs. Once again we missed a couple of chances to go ahead before Wednesday score with about the only chance they had up to that point and that was courtesy of a c*ck up between Berra & Bialkowski. As the half wore on we tried to get back into it and came very close in the dying seconds when Murphy' header came back off the post. No way did we deserve to be behind, it was an improvement on the previous two matches for sure.
The second half saw Mings come on at LB with Jonathon Parr moving to Left midfield and what a masterstroke this proved to be. Thankfully Town got level early in the second half with a lovely flick header by murphy from a teasing Sears cross, cue wild celebrations at last. Suddenly Town looked like they were going to score every time they went forward, Sears was causing them all sorts of problems while the introduction of Bru had also had a very positive effect as he and the excellent Skuse started running the show from Midfield, Mings was putting in some great balls in to the box and it felt only a matter of time before we scored again. Twon hit the woodwork for the second time from an Ambrose header when he really should have scored, again this was from a good cross by Mings. Finally the place erupted as Chambers powered home a lovely header from a Bru cross and it was no more than Town deserved. we had one or two more half chances and in truth Wednesday never really looked likely to level it up.
So a much improved Town performance, especially in the second half when we kept the ball on the floor and played some nice stuff, chances were created at will against a side who have the second best defensive record in the division. A big well done to MM for changes things around too, for me take a bow Freddie Sears who I thought on the night was superb and made things happen, his runs and movement are very good and he is not short of a bit of skill either, he looked like he had played with Murphy for ages and they linked up so well, far better than McGoldrick I am afraid to say, it was a breath of fresh air and we didnt miss Didsy one single bit. Also what a great move to switch Parr to Left Mid, he was excellent too and got forward so well to support the attack, I also thought Bru, Ambrose and Mings did really well while they were on the pitch, the changes were inspired tonight. Daryl Murphy looked back to his best and could well have had scored a couple more, especially the one which hit the post, his and Chambers header were lovely finishes.
While the first half was better but still frustrating the second half gave great cause for optimism again, at times we looked like the Town of old and the belief came flooding back, to come from behind in the manner we did was very pleasing too, they are a hard side to score against and we could well have had at least Four. We move on to Fulham where avoiding defeat is a must but tonight could well be the night that sees the end to our "Blip" and hopefully we have the real Ipswich Town back again.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview
Thanks for the report Mike. Like you I was pleased to see MM make changes, however I was a bit worried when I saw five, especially when one of them was Bru who I thought played ok on Saturday.
Clearly our Mick got it right and that's what he's paid to do. Murph's goal will do him a power of good, let's hope he can find the net on Saturday when team selection will again be interesting.
Well done to the lads, that must be an amazing relief for all of them.
Hopefully we can now string a few decent results together.

Strange game for you G&B last night although the right result I guess.
At one point I checked the BBC stats and on chances it was 25-5 in favour of Huddersfield, and yet Wolves were winning 3-1!

Echo all of the above! (Echo all....)
A massive, confidence restoring, win. If we can eliminate these niggling individual or communication errors then it will ease the pressure that little bit more. However, last night was about digging in, belief, some really good/improved individual performances; and, critically, astute changes by MM - which must pose some questions for Saturday's team selection. I think I'd start with the 11 who finished last night. Certainly Sears must be on the pitch.
Hopefully the win and performance will help quell some of the hysteria that was running riot - mostly on another fans' site!
Massive well done to MM/TC and the boys - onwards and upwards to Fulham.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview
It's amazing what a few fresh legs and rotation of players can do for a team!
The Town manager made five changes and felt that had given his side a lift: “Maybe having some fresh legs in the team helped. It’s bound to do, some of the lads have played all 30 matches, some of them have played most of them...I haven’t got that big a squad and I thought it was time to see if we could get a bit of zip back in the team and I think we did, to be honest.”
(of course fatigue had nothing to do with our blip)
