Fantastic win. Interested to hear if it was as nervy as Cottee was making out. Were they worth the 3-1, or is that a flattering result? I understand that no one gives a sagging witches tit how they played, 3pts etc etc, ..... but WERE they decent for it?

Sounds like we were in control although Cardiff also contributed to an excellent game.
Glad we got over the line with 3 points.

If Ipswich can defeat Wolves on Saturday and Derby win......, that SHOULD eliminate Wolves from play off contention, barring some crazy goal difference. 4-0 ITFC on Saturday should do it.

Lucy, Very True.

I made the comment merely from a Brentford travelling fans viewpoint. A long way home after suffering a defeat to a team they should've defeated......, ie, Huddersfield v ITFC.

What a win, only 3 games to go. We took the lead following a long ball lumped forward their defender lets it bounce and somehow Sears of all people out muscles the defender to lash a shot which is deflected and beats Marshall. Then Cardiff drew level with a lovely cross down the left by Malone which finds Doyle who buries the header. Then the goal of the game Skuse, yes you heard right Skuse finally scores his first goal for Town and what a goal first time screamer from good 30 yards out off the post and in. Then just before half time Town get away with one where ball from the left to Fabio at the back post with just the keeper to beat and puts it wide. Then in stoppage time Town sealed the win with ball played in to Murphy on the right with the keeper to beat and finishes with ease.

Interesting fact on Skuse

He last scored in 2012 for Bristol City, Tonight's goal was his 10th in 389 senior appearances.

fantastic! - the table looks good tonight and i have a feeling that's how it will finish.
personally i can't bear the thought of nodge in the the playoffs, so i'd be happy with that.

wolves are under pressure, they must beat us now and as mick mills said 'a team that must get 3 points often ends up with no points' - here's hoping.

Ipswich Town vs Cardiff City FC Match Preview

Post by Jamma123 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 10:43 pm

What a brilliant night, with all the results that mattered going our way and even Cole Skuse getting in on the goalscoring act! Talking of which, I thought that was his first goal anywhere... At least that was what a very excitable Brenner said in the BBC Suffolk commentary!

These back-to-back wins set things up for a very exciting final 3 games...and hopefully beyond...!

Come on you Blues!

We've also managed to score 6 goals in 2 games with four different goal scorers.

MM demanded 6 points and what a return. We should all be ecstatic with the last 4 days.

4 more points will seal the deal I think.

It's looking like a good season after all!
