I tend to agree as I don't like players with commitment issues.rossi wrote:If you're right that there's not a lot to choose between them then it could therefore be argued that Oar (as OUR player) should have been given more chances.bluemike wrote:Didn't Oar have Two injuries too ? AMN is not great but still offers pace and when on song brings something different, he is only a kid after all. probably not a lot to choose between the pair of them other than AMN wants to be here and play for us.hallamblue wrote:At the time Oar was looking to get into the team, Fraser was actually out injured. The player keeping him out was the ineffective AMN .
However, in my view AMN, although not brilliant, offers more than did Oar.
Oar was just being a spoiled little kid and throwing his toys out of the pram - he just threw them farther than most. Forget him - he wont be missed.

Oar's agent now saying that MM's brand of football didn't suit his client - see TWTD! Pick the bones out of that!

I guess that's understandable when the midfield tend to get bypassed with the hoof.herforder wrote:Oar's agent now saying that MM's brand of football didn't suit his client - see TWTD! Pick the bones out of that!

How many times is the prat going to change his story ? Gettinga bit irked with the guy now if I'm honest, maybe we shouldn't have played ball and demanded a fee while he rotted in the reserves.

? Keep in mind the caliber of players at our disposal back in that time, you can't compare the squads of Robson and what McCarthy has assembled. As for Burley and Royle, I'll always believe they were more competent than our current set-up and Yes you're right - they were very good times albeit for a while - nothing lasts forever.ashfordblue wrote:Now let me see here, Oar's agent says the style didn't suit his game, I can see that being very near the mark here, when he played in Holland he was a very good player, the Dutch don't play too much hoof footie, (Alla) Muren & Thysen style, its kept on the fooking ground more, he is also wanting to play for his country Australia, so you cant blame him going else where, I can also say that many thousands of us Town fans hate this bloody awful hoof it style, I think its time for a more creative manager to take us up to the next rung in the promotion ladder, Micks done a very good job on a very tight budget, BUT it just don't change, same old week in and week out, can we really stomach this crap for another 2 seasons, I'll bet I'm not alone in wishing for a change, if we can get back to how we always played under Sir Bob, Burley, & Joe Royale, they were exciting games to watch, and regular 20'000 to 25'000 gate's as well, so I do hope we either change our style of play (I doubt this very much) and start to play like Bournemouth & Watford played last season, and lets get up to the Premiership, some fans are happy with bread and water footie, but I like a bit of cheese in my sandwich and a cuppa to go with it, so lets hope we see a vast improvement to this hoof it game.
As for McCarthy doing a job on a limited resource, we've heard it a thousand times already. He's the not the first - will not be the last - who has at his disposal not the best hand dealt, but other names have been in worse circumstances and achieved more : for the last time we give Ted Howe (and Bournemouth) one further acknowledgement.
We are prepared to allow McCarthy to continue (not that there's an awful lot supporters alone can do about it) but until the often lackluster play can be sufficiently eradicated, I don't hold out an awful lot of expectation for the final end of season product.
