At this rate Muric will be off at half time.

Come back Hladky.
Maybe not the day to give Muric his debut? Remember Walton's at home to Bolton!

BBC -
I'm told there were three minutes and 11 seconds between Erling Haaland's equaliser and his second goal, Manchester City's third.

Muric gave away I think 3 goals with his feet in 5 games for Burnley in Prem. I had assumed our management were aware of this and would have a plan...

Obviously I can see this game but are we trying to pksy attacking football? Because if we are that's almost ridiculous, when perhaps once again a more defensive approach might have kept the bloody scoreline respectable.

A big score today ain't going to help our chances of attracting more players...

Apart from 2 crossbar strikes, limiting further damage up to half time is key here.
It really is such a huge shame that Man City didn't really have to work to take the lead. You'd have at least hoped we'd have kept it tight to try to frustrate them a bit

Could easily have been given a pen for the foul on Davis. Not sure why it wasn’t given. 3-: would have been far more respectable.

No midfield Mike, Morsy & Luongo no chance at this level but they won’t be up against this level of pace and energy every week. Learn from today and move on.Bluemike wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 3:38 pmNot attacking at allhallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 3:34 pmObviously I can see this game but are we trying to pksy attacking football? How many more do we need. Although a new GK could be on the shopping list in January. I just hope Jack Clarke has already signed and isn’t in the stand watching whilst he makes up his mind.

VAR denies US a penalty. Amazing how technology discriminates in favour of the big club too isn't it.
Man City will stuff many, many team this season so Town not to be the only ones. And just bare in mind this isnt our strongest team out there.
This is basically the League One team still

We gifted them 3 goals in 3 minutes, against anyone you can't do it, Muric is a massive worry, he's not on the same planet as Hladky.
We have steadied the ship a bit last 15 minutes, positives for me are Szmodics who looks very good and Morsy doing some good work in Midfield.
How the hell did we not get the penalty? Bloody double standards by the sh*te that is VAR, all the commentators saying 100% a penalty.
We just need to keep this respectable in second half.

Ffs can’t we send the keeper back to Burnley? Suicidal to play out like that against a team that press as well as city. At least I’ve seen a goal from us which is more than I was expecting.

Any changes?
I think maybe Cajuste on for Luongo to give a bit of extra quality in midfield, albeit Morsy's yellow is a concern.
Hutchinson has been down a couple of times and that's a worry, but not sure i'd make any other initial changes. Individuals will know the mistakes they've made, but subbing them is never the answer for player confidence.

Szmodics is my man of the match so far. Not just for the goal, but also his tracking back and defensive work. He looks a better defender than Davis.
Yes Muric f*cked up, but Davis needlessly caused a penalty when all he had to do was use his body. Savinho has got Davis’ number.
How much did we pay for Muric, again?

And Hladky is on the bench again, I'm not happy with our keeper but we knew that he played that way as to the pen it was more of a pen than the one they got, hate VAR.

Just thinking what might've been if not for individual errors!

Thought he was just cover.
Time to give him a run out then imo.
Davis hasn't helped his cause today. Wasn't overly impressed with him last weekend, this just adds to the doubt.

KM will not do that. Davis has been up against two fantastic players (ok, he'll be up against many more this season) and he will be more experienced for it. Dropping players willy nilly isn't good for team confidence.
