Forget about criticising Clarke or Hutchinson who admittedly have done nothing, although you can add Burns to the list too. For me the only reason we’re losing his is shocking defending and it’s hard to think of a played in that area who’s having a good game. West Ham are so strong down their left they are attacking us at will without a great deal of resistance but if you look at their cross into the box they have 3 players lined up to head the ball back across goal to Kudos who scores. The only town defender anywhere near the three of them was Davis and he didn’t even try to get involved. TBH their front line is simply too strong for us.
I can’t quite see how we’re going to get back into this but maybe our £5m a year man McKenna will show us how it’s done.

More sh*t defending this could any score, outclassed today. Muric doesn't have a touch like Hladky either.

The poor play of Clarke and Hutchinson is heaping more pressure on a already weak defence, those Two have been awful, they look lost.

Certainly a poor first touch but from Muric but he should never in a million years have been put in that position by Johnson. who in my opinion is having a shocker standing in for Tuanzebe. Phillips maybe could have done better but the goal stems back totally to the shocking aerial back pass.

Bring on Harry Clarke, Johnson is average at best,Szmodics might make a difference but sounds like we've lost this.

Poor all round sadly. I have no idea what Clark is supposed to bring but he is weak, poor attacking and defensively awful. He seems more worried about his hair and being a Jack grealish lookalike than doing his f*cking job! Why can't szmodics get into this team? Walton is looking more appealing by the week too... other than Delap. Morsy and David, the rest have been p*ss poor.

Muric with a brilliant reflex save just saved Johnson from gifting them a 4th goal.

In my opinion Delap is the only town player worthy of any praise this afternoon.

We don't seem to even have a defence on the pitch today. 2 spare men at the back post - so easy for them. Still 20 mins to go too...

Couldn't agree more, Clarke is sh*te, was first half last week too, I prefer Ogbene, Delap is on a different planet to the rest of them. Apart from Davis our defence isn't good enough today and Johnson never will be. It makes no sense signing Szmodics and playing Hutchinson in the middle where frankly he is useless.

Yes - i always worried about hutchinsons physical presence in the PL (one reason why I thoughts £20m was too much for him) and it has proven ti be the case today, sadly.

A really disappointing day. It's the first time where I have a real sense we could struggle this season. Hopefully it is an aberration, but we have to be better. Sloppy defence will get punished mercilessly in the Premier League. I don't believe the Hammers are, particularly, a better team than us, but they are more battle hardened in this league.

Fortunately, the likes of Wolves, Southampton and Palace are really struggling.

You can cross Davis off the list now, completely AWOL for the 4th goal and nowhere near Bowen or anyone else running freely down our left for their goal number four.

This really is a shocking afternoon, and to think I thought this game was winnable after our performance against Villa last week.

A bit of a reality check if I’m honest.

Yes agreed. The only good thing from today is that wolves, s'ton and palace seem worse than us and we will still be out of the bottom 3 over the break. The next 3 games though are huge for our season. We need to be on it at home and hope we learn about playing away from this, before we play against brentford. The season is really under way now...

I suppose we were always going to get days like today, I just didn't expect it today. Another thing for me is that KM has changed nothing during the game except personnel

It really has looked like Championship v Premier League this afternoon which is so disappointing after last week’s performance which was lauded by so many pundits who were singing our praises.
