In all honesty, does anyone here think we could lose Delap in this transfer window? I would have thought the chances are next to zero but the more the season progresses, the more I realise I know f**k all about the complexities and motivations behind the financial aspect of EPL.

Are there any circumstances d’you think where we’d sell i.e. a ridiculously high offer? And would he want to go? Given how much he’s improving under KMK, you’d assume he wouldn’t.

I would say there is zero chance he will go just yet, it would be suicide and certain relegation

I certainly can't see it in this window. His stock is high and growing and he is learning, our talisman and also still very young. He could have stayed at Man City and warmed the bench so hopefully, no chance. If we go down though, he will be gone in a shot and probably McKenna not long after him so lets keep hoping!

Have to agree with all of the above, her personal ambition would be well served by completing a successful season with us at least, especially if his 15-20 goals are a significant factor in keeping us up, which I would say is 50:50 at the moment.

Yes here it is
I was just about to post that, it's a loan so we would not be able to have any more only from from abroad, I was disappointed we didn't get him he's a good player but what about Jack Clarke maybe a loan for him.

lol sorry CB didn't mean to steal your thunder there !

I cant see us loaning out JC, because he does get minutes here ...I can understand why we are gig for the Villa player again with the injury to the ex Luton winger who's out for the season. I think well see players going out before we sign anyone ( what do I know lol)

Oh please, do we never learn, I hope this isn't going to drag on all January like before and take our eyes off other targets. We need a striker not another winger that's no better than what we have, and One who's turned us down before.

No worries, I was thinking he played mostly on the left and I was thinking that J Clarke and Broadhead would be struggling to get a game but he's right footed so a loan would be good with Ogbene out for the season.

Did he not have a choice in the end though? Villa matched it or bettered our bid and he went back to them? Not sure, but I can see why we’re in gif him givenOgbene’s injury. I think we’ll drop it if there’s so much if a hint of procrastination.

And maybe a loan for Ferguson is out of the question, I like Ferguson but he seems injury prone.

Yes he had a choice, the final say was with the player, he chose Villa, that is fine but I am always a bit dubious after a player says no.

So you get offered a long contract with a team competing in Champions League or Town coming into EPL with mainly players from League 1 and Championship. I think it's a no brainer where you sign.
For me if McKenna wants him that is good enough. He has been bang on with most of his recruitment in his time as manager

Well he clearly made the wrong decision. At the end of the day was he all that special at Hull ? Wasn't spoken about anymore than Jack Clarke and that's not exactly gone well thus far.

Putting myself in the players' shoes for a moment, I tend to agree with you, VR.

We need another right sided winger so I can see us going back in for him, and if it's just a loan, that's ok. He'll see what he's missing by signing for Villa!

Yeah I agree, he and his agent made the best professional decision. However, if we do get him on loan it will benefit both parties.

Jack Clarke is another story…very disappointing. But, can KM reinvigorate him to improve? At his best, JC has proven he can be a goal scoring threat albeit at the Championship level.

Still rumours of Woolfy departing, but I think he’ll stay. He’s a decent squad player and has something to prove.

The merry-go-round is already starting. I read yesterday KM wants to acquire at least 5 players.

You could say the same about Delap ?
I'd trust McKenna.

If Philogene does come then I can see why KM went there (clearly rated him before and we do need a right winger I guess), but whether he is the right one or his head is in the right place, time will tell. We probably are only fishing in a pretty small pool this window as want quality but there is little about at our budget who want to come to a side who are one of the favourites to go back down, regardless of how optimistic we all are!

If it is 5 players that KM wants then he had better go get them fast cos we need more points and to keep the momentum going or we are out.

We can do nothing but trust him, regardless, as he and MA are driving..!

My comments on discussions thus far. Delap will be going nowhere in this transfer window as he’s clearly enjoying himself playing regular football and raising his profile and valuation. Will we keep him if we get relegated probably not, if we stay up I think he’ll also stay for at least another season unless a club comes in with an offer we can’t refuse.

Will Philogene come to ITFC on loan, yes I’d definitely like to see this happen which would allow Hutchinson more freedom to play the central role behind Delap which he clearly enjoys. Philogene, Greaves & Delap played together exceptionally well in the second half of the season at Hull City last year and they could do the same for us at the higher level in the second half of this season. I think it’s definitely worth taking the risk on a loan deal and I don’t hold it against Philogene at all for going to Villa, I just think he was badly advised and try before you buy or loan only is a much lower risk fir us too. You only have to look at Jack Clarke to know that a player can’t always replicate previous form after a move. I watched JC play so many times for Sunderland last season and he was an absolutely amazing talent who I havent given up on yet and think he can still come good.

According to Alan Nixon Leicester are set to sign Latte Lath from Middlesbrough for £12 million. If there is any truth in it then I would imagine we must be looking elsewhere for a striker.

Yes here's report

For £12m, says Alan Nixon:

Leicester City are set to sign striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough in a £12 million raid.

The Foxes hope to agree a fee for Latte Lath and hand him the chance to keep them in the Premier League.

Ivory Coast hit man Latte Lath has been angling for a move for months and could now have a shot at the top flight.

Latte Lath was also linked with West Ham and Ipswich but Leicester are close to agreeing a deal for the exciting forward.

Wonder if we've got a different target now coz we'd agreed terms with him in August

If that's true that KMc wants 5 players coming in then that's up to 5 we need to get out which won't be easy.

Ogbene dropped from squad
J. Clarke loan ?
Luongo sold ?
Woolfenden sold ?
Burgess sold ?
Al Hamadi loan ?

They look the most likely ones to make way, then possible question marks over........

Chaplin
Broadhead
H. Clarke

I think we could actually make room pretty easily, depends how ruthless KM chooses to be.

I can understand Wolfie although in his 5 starts he's done nothing wrong but if we were to sell Burgess we would need a left footed centre back and that would not be easy IMO.

Surely more likely Edmundson than Burgess?

I'll be surprised to see Burgess or Woolfy leave in January unless we acquire an outstanding CB and need to make room. They've both done ok as backups. First and foremost, I really think we need two midfielders (defensive and attacking), a striker and a RB better than Johnson or Clarke.

Of course, the question still remains, who will leave to make room?

I think Edmundson is out of contact in the summer so he will leave on a free.
