Ipswich Town won't be pursuing the loan signing of defender Paul Dummett.

The Blues are considering adding some strength in depth at left-back given the uncertainty surrounding Brandon Williams' loan spell from Manchester United and Janoi Donacien's ongoing groin injury.

The Newcastle Chronicle has reported that the Magpies have 'resisted a deadline day approach from Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich' for Dummett, while Football Insider reports that Leeds are also keen on the 32-year-old.

We understand that Dummett was put to the Blues as a potential option, but that he was not a player of interest and those brief discussions went no further.

Dummett has played more than 200 times for his boyhood club but been restricted to just one sub appearance in the Premier League this season. He is due to be out of contract this coming summer.

Forgot that Williams' loan hadn't been terminated, I just assumed it was only a matter of time on that.

Perhaps we haven't been flat out desperate for a full back or two coming in is because the club are confident that at least one of Williams or Donacien will be up and running again soon?

Someone remind me to simply unplug my computer for the duration of any future transfer windows, the whole thing is just a joke of speculation and pathetic tactics of 'negotiation'.

Bonne has gone on loan to Cambridge. Feels an age ago that he scored that cheeky goal for us against Sheffield Weds.

If Kiefer Moore is the difference between Towns promotion or not the whole squad will benefit from the bonuses they’ll receive which should be a good enough incentive not to whinge about his pay.

Potentially everyone wins if we achieve promotion, if we don’t it will be an expensive loan but definitely worth the risk. 👍👌💙

Latest on EADT feed saying that the American striker deal is back on again and the signing announced in the next hour.

More sobering is that Cardiff have not ruled themselves out of the chase for KM!

What odds we end up with Gallagher instead? :(

Surely Kieffer Moore would favour a loan move to us. He knows the Club having been here before

But also has been with Cardiff before and was more successful there.
Will he prefer the draw of Wales or the draw of playing with two of his Welsh teammates at PR?

He might have family there too. However yes from a playing aspect you’d rather be in a promotion race

It's all done and dusted Kieffer was left out of the Bournemouth squad for tonight's match at West Ham, so he's a Town player now and will be in the team for the PNE match on Saturday, he's fit and ready to go as he trained this morning, would be good to see Paul Dummett 32 come here with his vast experience at Newcastle, but can't get game time, very versatile he can play anywhere across the back line. will be interesting to see who comes in before the 11pm deadline

He does have Burns and Broadhead here from the national team, that has to be a positive. And the chance to go up and then perhaps sign for us in the Prem, has to be attractive to a player with not a million years left to faff around with Cardiff in the Championship.

Hopefully he will get plenty of playing time to continue his development. I feel he is a player who certainly has potential.
