Really do not like Tim Sherwood. Bit of a tit. Hope it doesn’t come to that. Wouldn’t want Chris Coleman either but I’d want him over Sherwood.
Mick McAaaafee 9/4 to be new Leeds boss?

I’m just hoping that Marko put a bet on Sherwood when he was 20-1. That would pay a hefty telephone bill.

Stay calm KL Blue, I have never been so confident as I am now that Paul Hurst is our new boss.

Re: Next Manager Rumour Thread (Poll Added 2/4/2018)
Ipswich Town are set to appoint Shrewsbury Town head coach Paul Hurst as their new manager no matter the result of the Sky Bet League One play-off final today according to a report from The Sun on Sunday via Sky Sports.
The Tractor Boys were expecting to be without a manager after Mick McCarthy said he was going to resign as their head coach. However the vacancy came up quicker than expected when he shockingly resigned much earlier than he said he was going to. However it was close enough to end of the season that the club were willing to wait until the summer to find their new boss.
And after weeks of waiting it appears that they have got their man. Hurst is set to be their new manager no matter what happens with his Shrewsbury side today. He has shocked many in the division by leading the relegation favourites to the play-off final today. They even got close to getting automatically promoted after they finished 3rd this season. They are set to face Rotherham United in the final today but no matter what happens, Hurst will be heading to Portman Road next season to become their manager.
It definitely casts a shadow over what could be a great day for Shrewsbury, Getting this far has been an amazing achievement for them but having these reports come out could end up distracting the side when they need to be more focused than ever. We will only know if this does distract Shrewsbury when they face Rotherham later today.

Re: Next Manager Rumour Thread (Poll Added 2/4/2018)
Everyone keep their wigs on........ , this is merely an observation post as I was extremely interested in how Tony Mowbray would do at Blackburn last season. They even got close to getting automatically promoted after they finished 3rd this season.
Tony was sort of gifted automatic promotion by Paul Hursts Shrewsbury ....... should’ve been a lot closer than it eventually was. Shrewsbury’s last 8 games not including the pointless league trophy Shyte where they lost 1-0 to Lincoln.
Rochdale 3 Shrewsbury 1
Shrewsbury 3 Oxford 2
Bradford 0 Shrewsbury 0
Shrewsbury 0 Charlton 2
Shrewsbury 1 Bury 1 ( <——- absolute shocker)
Shrewsbury 3 Posh 1 ( <——- great bounce back after shocker)
Blackpool 1 Shrewsbury 1
Shrewsbury 0 MK Dons 1
The MK Dons result probably doesn’t count as they were guaranteed 3rd and he no doubt rested his best for the play off semis.

Re: Next Manager Rumour Thread (Poll Added 2/4/2018)
Has Hurst's team achieved a result thus far in their play-off event. Only relevance seems whether he's due to arrive here or not, not necessarily interested in some score from the lower leagues. Say again whatever arises from it will bear little influence on any decision to leave.
Seems a bit unfair some could argue, i.e. Shrewsbury are lining up one of their biggest games in recent history and all this talk and rumor regards our continual involvement / approaches has got to have effected their mindset and concentration as they prepare for their big occasion. Their opposition whoever it be, could well take considerable advantage of the situation.
Don't imagine Shrewsbury fans will thank us to any great extent if this issue indeed plays a hand in jeopardizing any promotion objectives.

It’s HT. Rotherham winning 1-0 and also missed a penalty.saint jude wrote:Has Hurst's team achieved a result thus far in their play-off event. Shrewsbury have McCarthy-looking stats at no shots on target. Shrewsbury are crying out for some Jack Ross inspiration. I’ll get in here early...
HURST OUT!!!!

Clever set piece to get it back to 1-1.
Good and inventive. Interesting corner in the first half as well.
Something to look forward to perhaps!?

Great news....... the loser is on his way to Ipswich.
Hope he doesn’t get overly tanned in Dubai. With those teeth, he could look like Reggie from “The Nutty Professor” at the press conference.

Should we still make that Skype conference call to Dubai?

Can’t mastermind a win over Rotherham United at Wembley.
I’m sure it will be much easier v Stoke City, Aston Villa, & WBA etc

Re: Next Manager Rumour Thread (Poll Added 2/4/2018)
I think it is pretty stupid for anyone to base an opinion on One game but again this is Town fans through and through. Sixty two bloody games they have played, more than anyone else in the country, favourites for the drop and nearly went up !!! I think some need to get their heads tested. I for one will welcome him to Portman Road but maybe this is why we struggle to attract anyone to our club these days, hound out one good manager and then jusmp straight on the next one who isn't even here yet, reading this I would not bother, clearly some will say lighten up it's all tongue in cheek but it isn't cus this is the type off bullcrap I hear week in week out up and down the country, the usual suspects will no doubt want him gone before anyone else, it's how they work whether it be Hurst, Sherwood or whoever, good old Town fans at their best.

My head wanted Shrewsbury to lose so we had a better chance with Hurst, but found myself wanting Shrewsbury to win. I still think it's far from a done deal, but fingers crossed.

Believe me, in my opinion Hurst needs us to further his career far more than we need him.
What we need is a Championship specialist, acca Neil Warnock, not an ex/current League 1 Manager.

Haven't we just had a "Championship specialist" in McCarthy?Charnwood wrote:Believe me, in my opinion Hurst needs us to further his career far more than we need him.

I think fans are sick on conservatism and I think there's value in bringing in a young manager with modern ideas. Besides, Warnock is not available.
I think it's a risk, that's for sure, the bookies have us favourites for the drop for a reason, it's probably not really fair, but this is about as important an appointment as I can remember, I genuinely think we are close to being in real trouble as a club, a few more years of boring mangers getting mid table finishes and the fan base could be so diminished that slipping in to league 1 could be disastrous. It's clear Evans is going to invest f*ck all, so we need to recruit a manger who has done well in a similar situation, Paul Hurst is a roll of the dice, but this is an entertainment industry and gambling is fun... I mean, Hurst will hopefully be a breath of fresh air after McCarthy.
What am I talking about, he still hasn't signed anything yet...
