Lambert has taken advice from his “colleagues in Germany”.... correct me if I’m wrong...... did he play for Dortmund?
These articles make me hate football even more. On this occasion, not shooting the messenger, so all cool, 9.
And Mevans........ take your 5 point plan and f**king shove it up yer arse.

I was more interested in the statement about Downes and Woolfenden not going anywhere.

Ah right, if that’s the part you’re asking if fake news...... i’d wager yes. Can’t see Downes not being linked and then moved on.
But my wagers always lose, so there’s a positive.

I think Luke Garbutt would choose to play for Town over Sunderland if he were given the choice. I know some people think Ipswich is a dump but compared with Sunderland it would be living in luxury. Come on Marcus, get yer wallet out man.

Apparently he’s from the NE area though Andy, so maybe he’d prefer a move back to that area. And let’s face it footballers don’t live in the downtrodden areas do they.

If Sunderland can afford Garbutt then so can we IMO. Question is only how we want to spread our budget. Garbutt may be more expensive than average for our squad and we may prefer to spend more on a striker.
Bear in mind also that Garbutt's agent will be looking for a move to the Champ I would imagine so this rumour might just be putting him in the shop window.

If we do try and sign Garbutt, then I’d hope he’d be used as a winger. As a defender, I don’t rate him.
I think a big target man is more important. Maybe a decent CB, too.
If we’ve got a limited budget, I’d rather we didn’t blow it on Garbutt.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Garbutt ended up at a Championship side. He’s a free transfer, good age and worth a punt for a lower/ mid table Championship side.

Agree with that Tang, defensively he was suspect and very poor at defending the back post, much better as a winger, alas we've seen the last of him here.

Well from what Tang and Bluemike are saying, it sounds like we wouldn't miss him...so he can bugger off in my opinion. Remember, he didn't really do much during our run of bad games. I think he had one or two above average performances.

I’m not liking the vibes I’m getting from this article Tbh.
WHY is it so difficult for Town to sign the players they want , given that there are more players without clubs now than at any point in history due to the financial impact from CoVid. It’s already been reported this week that Town are one of only three remaining Clubs to yet sign any players . One is in administration ( Wigan), one in the throws of a take over ( Charlton), and us ..... and our excuse is what ??
Lambert sounds quite desperate frankly, in the interview
(above) .

Can't say I'm surprised about the lack of transfer activity. Evan's has already stated he wants more youth players in the first team and lets face it, he's probably a bit nervous about money in the current climate. He was a tight arse without Covid 19, so he must be tightly puckered even more now. I think it will come down to a few loans again to fill the gaps. We should be much better with KVY and Norwood fit with an emphasis on 'should'.

f*ck me Liz he’s from Harrogate which is as posh north as you can get. Comparing Harrogate with Sunderland is like comparing Mayfair with Ipswich. I certainly can’t see a Harrogate Grammar School lad wanting to be seen anywhere near Sunderland. Get in there Marcus, get him signed.

Liz I don't think there's too much surprise in this and I also think Lambert will get the Three or Four signings we need (ST, CB, LB, LW), tbh if Evans is true to his word and intends to hold on to our players then I honestly don't believe we need many more anyway, the emergence of Lankester, Dobra, El Mizouni is something I am looking forward to and if we do keep Holy, KVY, Downes, Woolfenden, Norwood and Jackson we ain't far short of what for me is a good side,

Just seen that Richard Keogh is likely to sign for MK Dons. We’ve reputedly put in an offer for him, but he’s likely to sign for them. Too much of an injury risk for me, but surprised he’d choose MK Dons.
