Deffinatly Right to sack him. He started to let the team tell him who would play rather than him making the desisions. Wright was playing terrible for ages yet it seemed that Burley still played him cos he felt he owed it too him. Burley lost control of the team, but that is just my opinion.

Someone had to be held responsible for the teams failure, and don't forget at the time it looked like we were in relegation form to go down to Div 2, which is now League One!

GB was seemingly out of sorts and out of ideas. Having said that he has done an outstanding job at Derby - he needed a change of scenery and it was a good move for both parties.

Most definately right to get rid of him. Both party's are better off for it i feel.

I think what is sad is that GB actually lost the plot. I had heard through the grapevine some pretty sad stories about GB and I questioned how on earth someone could do the job he was doing whilst having other things in his life going on.

What I find strange is that Wilnis and Magilton were both told they could leave - yet they are only a few that remain from GB's era. It is sad because GB gave us our biggest moments in the clubs recent history - yet at the same time caused more long term damage (not on his own) because people had trust in his judgement.

For a few seasons in the first division I thought we were by far the best side in that division - yet we never quite dominated the league - had we have had another manager there is every chance that we may have got promoted sooner - and possibly stayed there. But it would be stupid to speculate on such things now. What is important is that we seem to be solid and grinding out good results - we have a good balance at the moment and the squad (midfield apart) is looking fairly strong - so lets hope the future is to be rosier than the past few years!!

I for one am not a lover of Joe but my god,if Burley had of stayed i think we could have been down anther league by now.

Yeh, he was a fantastic manager, but once he'd lost the dressin room tht was it for him. Definately the right decision at the time, we'd of stood no chance if he was allowed to carry on longer.

all i can say is he did a great job with us but he had to go, i mean look where we were in the table with him and look where we got to without.

Yes, he should have gone after we lost 4-1 at Bolton in that relegation decider....we were 4-0 down at half time I believe.

Yes we were. It was the only time I have ever left a Town game early (so I missed Clapham's last minute consolation goal) such was my utter disgust with the teams performance. One of the most important games in the clubs history and the players were just not bothered.

Yes, God knows what situation we would have been in now, if he
had stayed any longer..
