Plymouth keeper Romain Larrieu has branded Town striker Nicky Forster a cheat after conceding a penalty for a foul on the frontman on Saturday. Larrieu says that Forster dived to win the spotkick which Matt Richards converted to put the Blues 3-1 up.
Larrieu said: "I'm really upset. I have heard a lot of times it was foreign players that brought cheating into the game.
"But a lot of English players nowadays think they are protected because of that.
"There is a lot of them diving. I can see it every week. I think the ref needs to be aware of that.
"I think I made it look like a penalty but it wasn't one. That's what people need to know.
"The situation is very hard for keepers now. He pushed the ball too far for him to score.
"If he wanted to score I would have won the ball but he didn't try to score. He just tried to win the ball and kick it out, directly out of play, almost into the stands and the referee gives a penalty for that.
"Obviously, if you play in goal you can't go for the ball anymore when it's a 50-50.
"I went for it. Maybe I was a bit naive to go for it, but I really thought I had a big chance to win the ball."
Larrieu also conceded a penalty the last time the two sides met. Back in January at Home Park, the Frenchman felled Darren Bent inside the area, Darren Currie netting from the spot.
1. If took it around you, if you didnt follow there would of been an open goal, so how is that kicking it out, if he did kick it out as he knew he couldnt score why didnt you leave it and let it go out, stupid idiot!
2. "I thought I had a big chance to win the ball" - so you're saying you didnt, so how is that not a penalty? An idiot again!

Hmm. The goalie was terrible, and was lucky not to have been made to look a bigger fool. That said, my view of the incident was, it was not a penalty, and Forster played for it - if that had been awarded against us, I'd have called for a yellow card for diving.

Ive seen penalties given for far less than what I saw on saturday. The goalie made contact with Forster and brought him down IMO = penalty.
By the way Im curious to know ..is the Arglye goalkeeper in any way related to that clown of a ref, cos judging by his comments I think it highly likely.
The guy's a complete pratt..and I hope he gets done by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute !

I've only seen the replay on itfcvideo but it looked a penalty to me right from the first time I saw it.
The keeper came sliding out and made no contact what-so-ever with the ball and then either deliberately or just through momentum up ended Forster, a penalty everytime for me.
I'm not even sure if Forster made that much of a meal of it really.

The irony of those dirty cheating buggers claimed we cheated is not lost on me.
At one point I did ask mork if we had came to a rugby match not a football match.
And frankly goaly never touched the ball, and there is contact with nicky, penalty. Delt with.
Cherio back down the league you go.

The overall issue of players baiting the keepers into those kind of penalties is real. The strikers really aren't trying to round the keeper at all at that point. They just need to make sure they get the ball away from their feet before the keeper arrives. It is unsporting. But the bottom line is that if you make contact with a player after the ball is gone, you have committed a foul.
There is very little incentive for keepers to leave their line anymore, and I am not sure that is good for the game.
