Owen return delayed

Owen Garvan will be out for another two to four weeks after seeing a specialist about his damaged ankle.
The 17-year-old midfielder sustained the injury in the 2-2 draw with Coventry last month and it was hoped that he would be back for the return fixture at the Ricoh Arena this weekend.
But Town physio Dave Williams told the Club website: "Owen has seen Mark Bowditch, the specialist we use for lower limb injuries and he's had a good look at the ankle.
"It's been scanned again and the sprain is grade 2 rather than the grade 1 which we had hoped for.
"There is also a slight chip to the bone but that is only minor and Mark isn't concerned about that at all. With Owen's age, the bone is not yet fully mature anyway.
"We're probably looking at Owen being back playing again in two to four weeks the way things stand."

Real shame, but at least we should have westy back, Also id rather garvin was out (as a midfielder where we have cover) than losing one of our strikers or defenders.
Hope him all the best on his recovery, he is a quality player.

I got the impression Joe was indicating Gavan would be out for sat - but then back again on the tues v Reading ...wondered if he was just keeping Garvan away from the git that did the disgraceful tackle on him v Coventry - which put him out injured in the first place !

Nah, according to Evening Star, Joe reckons the Reading game will come too soon for Owen without a reserve game, so we're looking at him being out for those 2 games at least....if not more....

Was going to say - since when has Michael Owen played for us!
Shame Garvan is out for so long, but least it may give the newboy a chance.
