Manager Joe Royle has confirmed he is happy with the club's form this season - and feels the Reading game will be a "good test".
On the eve of a home match against the Royals, Royle said: "The Reading game will be a good test of how good we can become.
"We have had a number of injury setbacks yet are still four points off the play-off places. We should have beaten Coventry at home and away having been in the lead in both games - and if we had done so we would now be in a play-off position.
"We will have a right go at Reading against a side managed by one of my best friends in football, Steve Coppell.
"It would be ideal to either be in the top six or be on the verge of the play-off places by Christmas.
"Our display at Coventry on Saturday was in many ways our best of the season. We were balanced and athletic with loanee Gavin Williams giving us the right-sided strength we have not had since Jermaine Wright left."
Must be a great confidence boost to Williams to put in he same league as Jermaine

What the f**k is royle on about - not had this strength since Jermaine Wright????
Jermaine - i am a panzy - Wright!!!!
Sorry but after hearing complete cr@p like this I seriously question whether he is the right guy to manage this club. Every town fan knows what a waste of space Jamma was and he was one player we were all glad to see the back of.
