Cardiff defender Rhys Weston has warned his team-mates that Ipswich will be "like a wounded animal" when they pitch up at Ninian Park on Monday night.
The Bluebirds host Joe Royle's side knowing victory will take them from 11th in the table up into sixth, but Weston is taking nothing for granted despite the Tractor Boys' demoralising 3-0 home defeat to Reading last time out.
"Ipswich will be like a wounded animal coming off the bad defeat against Reading and that's when teams seem to be at their most dangerous," Weston told his club's official website.
"You can never write Ipswich off. They've obviously lost a few key players before the start of the season but they are still a force to be reckoned with definitely.
"In this division anyone is capable of beating anybody so we'll have to be mindful of that."
Cardiff boss Dave Jones is facing an injury crisis. Already without defender Darren Purse and winger Kevin Cooper, the Bluebirds could also be missing former Holland Under-21 international defender Glenn Loovens and striker Michael Ricketts.
Purse is suspended and Cooper is still recovering from a recent knee operation, while Loovens sustained a groin strain in last Tuesday's 1-1 home draw with Brighton - a game Ricketts sat out because of an ankle problem.
Veteran defender Neil Cox will cover for Purse, with left-back Chris Barker poised to move across the back line to stand in for Loovens and midfielder Joe Ledley dropping back to fill in for Barker.
Ledley's place would go to Neal Ardley and should Ricketts recover, he will almost certainly be recalled at the expense of Republic of Ireland international Alan Lee.
