Town are taking New England Revolution pair Andy Dorman and Jeff Larentowicz on trial next week. The duo have been recommended to the club by Paul Mariner, assistant coach at the Boston-based MLS club.

Midfielder Dorman, 6ft tall, is actually British, having been born in Chester prior to moving to the US to go to college. As a youngster he made U18 appearances for Wales.

Dorman, 23, established himself in the Revolution side after being drafted in 2004 and is a regular.

Defender Larentowicz, from West Chester, Pennsylvania, joined the Revolution from college earlier this year in the annual MLS draft, making one senior appearance. The 22-year-old is 6ft 1in tall and a centre-half.

Mariner is expected to send an U14 side over to train with the Town Academy in the near future.

The Revolution were in the Championship final, for what its worth.

I can't really say how a good MLS team compares with a mid-table Championship side. I expect the game is much quicker in the Championship.

(fill in your town midfield jokes here_____________ )

You would like to think that PM knows a player with potential when he sees one - so heres hoping that something comes of this (especially defensively)

How could this guy possibly get a work permit to play in England?

Perhaps we can do what the Italians and Spanish do and get him shacked up with a woman from the EU so that he counts as a naturalised player!
