Well put it another way. If the fans agreed to putin £2 million in return for a 25% share in the club through the issue of new shares then we might be able to make this conditional on the 2 mill going into squad strengthening.
Trouble is will this be enough ? Do we have enough faith in JR to back him to make the 2 mill count ?

£20m would make a massive difference, but getting £20m out of fans would be tough for most clubs to do, let alone Ipswich!

Mr. Dazza sir, you're not paying attention Debts are managed, the club runs tightly as things stand. If £2 million new money were to arrive at the door tomorrow then the club could afford to spend all of it on the squad.
If you found 100 quid on the pavement tomorrow you might pay off some of your mortgage with it but if you blow it on cheap flight to Prague and an all night drinking session chasing the Czech girls you would be no worse off (financially) in the morning.
It's often been said (by JR himself) that £2 million is enough to buy your way out of this division.......

Oh no, I know whats being said, its just £2m though. Its a big risk to ask the fans for this sort of money and then fail and still be in the same situation. I'd rather do it on a larger scale if we're going to go to the effort.Dubai Blue wrote:Mr. Dazza sir, you're not paying attention Debts are managed, the club runs tightly as things stand. As for JR saying that, he said that when we has a much better team, wonder if he could still get us out with £2m...

Fair point Sasha but that is 20,000 supporters from the whole wide world not just from those who go on a Saturday. There are plenty like me & PBB & ATB & Seattle and so on and so on who I think are just as dedicated but are too far away.
Shame the head of the lottery commission isn't a fan too
