Who is our best striker??
Altho they're all injured, who do you think our best strikers are?? (based on how they've played this season, and not how prone to injury they are!!)
From best to worse, I think its....
Lee
Forster
Haynes
McDonald
Parkin
Naylor
Clarke
Proudlock
Bowditch

You rate Bowdtich over Forster??!?!?!?!!? Jesus, what has Bowditch accomplished in his career exactly? Forster has been banging in goals at this level for many a year (many against us!) - and was much talked about as a Premiership potential, until he hit this injury which is pretty much ending his career.crazee wrote:Lee

Bowditch(when on full form) Naylor
Parkin (ive got faith in him)
Forster
Clarke
Proudlock
That said, Bowditch has contributed NOTHING this season, not a single goal - Forster has spent most of the season injured, and has still contributed 3 goals, 2 of which won the match for us.
The obsession with Dean Bowditch amongst town fans has to stop - the guy is average at best, and has been badly over-hyped due to one performance, his first - he's been poor ever since, and yet you want to rate him over an accomplished proven professional whose got 100% more goals than bowditch this season.....harsh.

Well at least he doesn't risk death or injury - anyway, theres something classy about understatementsquiz18 wrote:Worse celebration though so ...... it balances outTODD66 wrote:But betterGaz wrote:Alan Lee by a long way, he's our new Shefki
Same grit, same determination, same passion - better first touch.

Best "striker" at the club by a long way is Forster, has a proven record wherever hes played
best forward , without a doubt is Lee
i dont class a forward and striker as the same thing, striker is more or less a 6 yeard box player, where as a forward does a lot of his work outside the box
play them together and we have a marriage made in heaven, just need to get the fookers off the treatment table!!
also, with a much improved and mobile midfield i think we'll see the best of Parkin when he returns

Given the right service (and a bit of confidence) Parkin.
Given a bit more time and experience the potential of Haynes and MacDonald is there to see - pace and a good touch.
The future is bright, and if we could only keep everyone relatively fit all the time the possibilities are endless up front especially with what appears to be an improving, confident midfield.

Re: Who is our best striker??
Not a bad choice. I'd swap Clarke and Naylor and you're pretty much spot on.Rach wrote:Altho they're all injured, who do you think our best strikers are?? (based on how they've played this season, and not how prone to injury they are!!)

IMO we have no empirical way to judge other than past records. Either they have been out injured for ages or they have played in front of an inept midfield.
Also agree with Riv's point about strikers and forwards being different beasts.
Someone made an important point about having more forwards/strikers than the Blades. If they were all fit then I bet some of them wouldn't be happy. Also if we hadn't had so many injuries then would we have Lee at all ? And would Haynes or Mini Mac have been given a chance ?
Perhaps the injuries have a silver lining after all ?
